Fable Folk

Okay, I never wanted to have to make one of these posts. I'm genuinely happy that anyone out there likes my icons and wants to use them, and I'm not even particularly hung up about credit.

However, hotlinking is not okay. This is the kind of thing that kills my desire to ever make more, you guys. Every time.

And by the way? I can see you!

I will not hesitate to break links as necessary, either. Although, if it keeps happening, I'll be forced to take the most hotlinked icon sets down. If I'm feeling generous that day, I might offer SS/MF/MU or similar links to zips, but there'd be no guarantees.

So whoever keeps hotlinking? Stop!

Upload them to your own server, kids. Photobucket, tinypic, imageshack, and a million others are out there, and it's simple, free and easy to set up an account at any of them.

Not dead. Just on extremely extended hiatus from both roleplay and iconning. And mostly the internet in general. Back soon eventually.

I guess this technically makes a liar out of me, because this is definitely not Summer. (Yes, I'm still working on iconning her. Too many pictures + indecisive me = eons.) However, a friend asked me to do these for one of her boys, and since I adore him, I couldn't say no. Even if his PB is a model, and of underwear, no less. Oy vey.

It's a hard job, but somebody's gotta do it. >.>

So, Thomas had to cut his hair for a role, and then he started growing it back out some and my GOD, but it's ridiculously HOT. And so I had to make more icons. (And a new character. *koff*)

If this boy doesn't inevitably end up in my stats (that I will one day do like all those other icon makers out there, I swear) as the subject with the most icons, I will be amazed. Amazed.

Oh, and a very, very few of these feature cameos by a couple of co-stars (Rumer & Lena and possibly some other random celebs. No Summer, I don't think yet. ALAS!) and his real life girlfriend. Eventually, I'll probably make icons of the whole SCC cast... and casts of all of Thomas's other projects and... Look, I'm sure everyone sees a pattern by now. :P

But in other news, I will probably do someone else next. Most likely Summer Glau, but that's not definite. Just highly probable.

This lady is all kinds of fabulous and her career is something to admire. (Though, I'll always love her best as Dr. Ellie Sattler in Jurassic Park. ♥) I don't mind sharing a name with her one bit.

I think she'd make an excellent Narcissa or even an older Fleur. She has a good, wide range. I'm rather amazed I've never seen her used as a PB before. Here's hoping someone will find these useful and/or inspiring.

About

This is the PB icon journal of strangefable, where I post all the various icons I've made for the specific purpose of PBs in RPGs. Everyone else is doing it and since I've built up a small collection, why not share it with my fellow IJ RPers? Mostly, there will just be icons, but there will also be the occasional banners and other graphics for PB use. Everything posted here is specifically made for use in RP. I also post icons and graphics, many of them not RP-related, over at globesquares on LJ.



Rules

1. Credit. Like all icon makers, I put quite a bit of effort into making these icons. It only takes a second of your time, and it shows you respect others and, even more importantly, it lets other people know where they can find more of my icons when they run across them in your journal. All you need to do is put fablefolk or strangefable in the comment box of your icon when you upload it to your journal. Easy peasy! I'm not going to hunt you down if you don't, but if I spot someone using one of my icons without credit, I will ask you at least once to please do so.

2. Comments, while not required, are very much loved and adored. They make me feel good and let me know that people like my work enough to make use of it. They also help me to know what styles and which PBs are most popular.

3. Don't Hotlink. Bandwidth isn't free and it isn't endless, either. If you kill my bandwidth and my hosts cut my images, you're irritating me and depriving anyone else from seeing or using my graphics. Download the graphics to your own computer or upload them to your own webspace. Journal sites allow you to upload icons onto their server (that's kind of the point, innit?) and there's lots of free hosting sites out there like Photobucket or Imageshack for hosting banners and other larger graphics.

4. Don't claim you made them. Yes, PB icons are relatively simple and not worth fighting a whole lot over. However, it's just disrespectful to go around hawking someone else's work as your own. Don't post my icons elsewhere, and especially don't claim they're yours.

5. Don't alter without permission. If you want to change something on my icons, please ask me first. I made them as they are for a reason, and I'd rather not have them changed. If you have a good reason, I'm more than happy to accommodate you, but you must ask first. I might even be able to help you.

Robert is awesome, the end. He has an amazingly retro look to him, so he'd fit right in during the Marauder's Era, or just as a quirky retro kid in more modern games. These icons are mostly from The Princess Diaries, but there's a fair few from Rooney stuff, as well.

Models are never my favorite PBs, but I will say that I do sort of like Miranda. She's got a far larger range of expressions than most models and she looks a bit more like a real person. Still, I only made these because a friend asked for them.

I have no idea what happened when I uploaded these, but they're a bit out of order. I tried to fix it some, but with this many icons, it was just too much work to fix it all.

I love, love, love, love Camilla. She's beautiful and she has a very unique look and even her name is awesome. This is a small post because it was made back when I only needed about 15 icons for a character on LJ, but there will be more of her soon. I don't care if everyone icons her; they should. Typically, I'm just not a big fan of models as PBs. (Everyone has their quirks; this is one of mine.) So Freja will be one of very few models to be found in this journal because I only do model icons on request from my friends.

I know a lot of people look down on Disney PBs, but I think Disney is a veritable gold mine of teenage and child PBs, and not all of them are ridiculously popular, either. Emily is just adorable, but these icons aren't the best. She's on my list for more.
