Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Characters: Lirael and Maryanne Walker
When: Sunday afternoon
Location: Hallway of Sleeping Car 7
Warnings/Rating: TBD
Summary:Lirael runs into Maryanne
Status: Dice!, ongoing

Lirael was irritated. There was absolutely nothing to do on the train- at least nothing with a purpose. At least when they were stuck in the land of dinosaurs she could go patrolling. There were no attacks to ward against, no chores to perform. Even the library was unexciting, without a single Free Magic creature to bind.

It had been almost two weeks since they left the resort, and the landscape hadn't even changed. Gray, gray, and more gray, "livened up" with white and black. At first the monochromatic scenery had been eerie, then peaceful. Now it was just dull. Inside the train, some people had been losing their memories, only to regain them later, but since Lirael neither had experienced the memory loss herself nor been acquainted with those that had, it hadn't really affected her at all.

So all in all, she was in a fine funk. Which she was currently taking out by pacing the hallways. Perhaps watching a movie might calm her down. She had gotten used to movies, which seemed to be like the Clayr Sight, except it showed stories rather than reality. Her face burned as she remembered the one time she had been let into the Observatory of Clayr Glacier; she had been led in blindfolded, like a guest. Only Clayr who had the Sight were allowed in the Observatory. That was the moment that she realized she was not a Clayr, and never would be. She had gotten used to that fact over the years, but it still occasionally had the power to hurt.

Lirael sped up, trying to outrun the uncomfortable memory. Instead, she ran straight into someone coming out of their room.
