Who: Ann and Mason Where: Forest of Dean When: Night Why: First time encounter Rating: TBA
It amazed him more than he liked to admit. He would listen to his parents talk about the war and stuff and it seemed so long ago. The pictures? Looked to be so long ago. But standing out in the woods now, lighting his cigarette? It didn't seem any different from the live back home. Now grants you there would be difference in style and material items no doubt but out in the woods, listening to the crickets in the distance? He wouldn't tell the difference in the years.
He didn't know exactly where to go, he was told that she would find him so that left him wandering around a bit aimlessly. He did take heed to his sister's words and used some caution. Like? Well like keeping a clear map in his head to get back to the safe house if need be. But to be honest, none could be as reckless as Mason was being at the moment. He spoke to a girl, who he didn't even know if it was a girl or not. Who spoke of dangerous situations with 'Alpha males' and 'breeding rings'. He didn't know what this girl looked like, where to find her or even her name.
Now Mason wasn't completely stupid as many would suggest and rightfully so. But he was attracted to the most... Dangerous things. He lived on the edge. It was him. He couldn't lead a boring life with routine, it would (and had in the past) drove him to the brink of madness. To depression. He had to be out in the world. He had to know everyone. Now to know everyone didn't mean to be everyone's friend as he had many hospital visits claiming he had some pretty dangerous enemies. But it was the life he chose. He enjoyed partying, he enjoyed scamming and gambling and having dangerous toys and loving even more dangerous women. Now the women themselves were too dangerous, wasn't like he was into Amazons or the likes but dangerous like affairs. They had high profiled spouses. He enjoyed the rush and knowing the limits he could push and what he could get away with. What people also failed to realize was that his actions were no one's fault. Though many claimed he had been failed, whether by family or society, that wasn't it either.
Mason loved his family. He adored them. He loved his friends. He was never wronged. He was never mistreated or not given the attention he required. Everything he did, he did without blaming anyone. Everything he did, he did because point blank, he was an adrenaline junky and though many didn't realize it, they thought he was dumb to the reality. He wasn't. He never planned on living long. Not because he was suicidal or anything like that. But because he knew the life he led. He knew the dangers and quite frankly, he would love a interesting death even if it was being murdered, over a boring by dying of old age.
He paused in his movements when he noticed something off. The crickets in the distance? Died down in a deadly silence. Mason tossed down the cigarette and pressed it out with his foot, careful not to start any fires and he looked around.
"Hello?" He called out, a smile tugging at his lips as he felt a tingle of fear and a rush of excitement, that chill that said he wasn't alone. "Are we playing hide and go seek?
