She'd left the safehouse telling Lucy the address of where she'd be, just in case. Albus' words had been following her for the last day. She'd come into this knowing the consequences, knowing the possibilities. Her life, her family, her boyfriend, there were factors in play that she knew would change, or could change. Time was malleable. She'd learned that in coming back here. But... for the whole of her life there had been something missing in Zee's life. That little hole that no matter how much her family loved her couldn't fill. Something she needed to know... the question why. Why. And even if nothing changed, it was something she needed to know. She would have the knowledge even if she went back. Even if she had to be given up for... well she didn't know the reason. If there was a possibility of things being different...
Walking in, Zee turned on one of the lamps, bathing the large room in light. Thick carpets in deep reds lay atop one another on all sections of the floor, plush couches facing one another in the middle of the room. Guitars, bases, keyboards and a spot where a drum set was clearly missing... All in all the room looked warm, welcoming, like something out of a palace in the Mid-East. Posters from muggle and wizarding bands littered the left wall, while neat and messy handwriting - in marker - took up the right. Moving over Zee brushed her hands passed the familiar handwriting. By the time she'd been old enough, this place no longer existed - having been torn down and replaced. Yes she'd seen photographs where everyone was here, but actually being here was different. Like a piece of the past seen in a dream...
Against the poster wall was a guitar rack. She recognized some of them, noticing that her father's favorite one was missing. She put her own guitar case - which had been slung over her shoulder and housed items of great importance (beyond her instrument) - down on the plus red couch before picking up one of them and sitting down with it; she let her fingers do the talking, letting her head fall forward watching her fretwork. This was a big decision. Something that she knew would very well change everything. Then again... they were already doing that. She had thrown caution to the wind. They were here to fix things. They were here. The working theory was that once they were gone they wouldn't be remembered. In order to fix the past they were here, and that was changing the past, even if they wouldn't necessarily be remembered... She just had to pray she was doing the right thing and not being her usual hardheaded, stubborn Gryffindor self... especially without her other half here to balance her out...
Zee closed her eyes; the strains and vocals of the song she'd been working on since arriving coming out - the lyrics coming to her, one she would give to a friend to record, even though it was kind of personal; although lyrically it would fit Fall Into Ashes, the tune and tone weren't as edgy as a lot of her other stuff - maybe it was her own unease that it was coming out so smooth. The dummy tune was a bit female-on-stool-with-guitar... Sounded more like her parents' style than Fall Into Ashes, it fit the space. It would need some work... maybe she'd keep this one for herself. At least for now this kept her mind from the nerves that came with waiting and wondering if she really DID want to know... too late now.
