Things were on ice, not literally being the summer months, but metaphorically with Antonin always around now that he had escaped. What was once a relationship sure to flourish was now under threat of discovery. Circe was now even more paranoid because of her pregnancy and had been for months. She hadn’t been taking care of herself and the baby for fear that growing would get Antonin’s attention. She was refusing him her bed; she insisted she needed time when really it was simply that she couldn’t cheat on Fenrir. She wouldn’t cheat on him because she loved him. Nevermind that she was married and having an affair on Antonin and had two children to him. If he discovered that she was pregnant he would know it wasn’t his and then what? Circe would be in danger and so would William and Fenrir. They had to keep it from him at all costs.
She knew of course Fenrir would be his usual confident self about things. He never seemed to worry or bother with Antonin as a threat. She never did understand why, but then again Antonin put the fear of god into her from their wedding night on. She knew enough about his cruelty to know where her boundaries were. She may have been crossing them willingly but she was doing so behind his back while he was in prison. It wasn’t as if he was around was it? Not like he would have been the man she needed had he been there. She realized the night Fenrir told her what really happened in their fifth year what kind of man Antonin really was, aside from the parts she saw.
Everything about their situation scared her and yet she took the risk. William was already there and she wouldn’t take him back for anything. He was her pride and joy despite Antonin’s wish for it to be otherwise. Of course explaining to him the truth was going to kill her. She wanted to keep William innocent forever, maybe it was because she lost that innocence so young herself through her husband. She didn’t want to ruin it for him before he was ready. No matter what, Circe saw William as innocent as she saw Fenrir despite his actions as well.
But maybe he was right? Maybe they needed to come clean to their son and just let things happen. To keep denying their needs and desires was killing her. No they didn’t necessarily deny the physical ones, but she grew tired of sneaking around, she wanted to be with him in public; to hold him and to call him her own. It was his rings she desperately wanted to wear.
It was that thought that had her eyes move from the journal open at the edge of the bed to the rings that were on the nightstand next to an empty necklace chain and then to the set that was on her hand. Anytime she was with Fenrir it was his rings she wore, she refused to have any part of Antonin in their relationship and that meant his rings were abandoned for the time she was with Fenrir.
A sigh escaped her lips as she looked toward the image that hung above the bed. It was her commissioned by Antonin for their private chambers. This place was not what she wanted, yes it was the life she was used to but she would have given up everything, even the money and glamour for a chance at a life where she was loved. It was sadly the hufflepuff part of her that was always going to shine through. She couldn’t care less what sort of life she had so long as she was happy.
The sound of movement caught her attention but she calmed realizing the steps were to heavy to be her son. Which meant it was one person and one person alone. The mere thought had her heart racing already, especially since she was already showing a little at nearly five months along. But it was only thanks to the grace of some god that Antonin had been too busy to argue with her about sex and about her growing illness.
As the door opened and Fenrir appeared, her eyes went to his immediately as a smile appeared on her face. The lack of clothing she promised was what she delivered as she adjusted herself on her side to look at him better. “You’re late.” She said in a very calm yet sultry voice. “I almost thought you forgot what was waiting for you. Surely that ginger brat isn't more important than my needs, is she?" She asked teasing him a little as she moved to her knees on the bed. "He's asleep you know...so we're alone. What ever will you do with me now?"
