Who: Jill, Barry, Chris
What: Weapons for the upcoming trip to Peregova
Where: Canada, Burton household
Rating: PG (Nothing explicit maybe some swearing)

((OOC note: if you spot anything that makes you go, "Wait, that makes no sense," tell me and I'll alter it.))

Barry Burton's house was one of those old-time, stick-built affairs, a good two stories with a spacious backyard and a well-maintained lawn. It wasn't substantially different from their home back in the States, the only truly obvious change being a small, but somewhat sad one. Back in Raccoon, they had a sign on their front porch proudly displaying their family name; here, the absence seemed to shadow the house a little. Or rather, it might to anyone who knew the Burtons well, Barry in particular.

Barry himself seemed to reflect this underground living, his cheeks having hollowed over the past years, ginger hair starting to gray. Even so, he had retained the affable, bear-like mannerisms characteristic to him. He still smiled easily, and had lost none of the fierceness in his eyes, but they were now couched in lines of stress.

He had arranged with Jill and Chris for them to meet him at his house with a roomy vehicle, with enough room to pack a small armory. He'd instructed them to drive up onto the lawn and to the back door. God only knew what the neighbors would say if they saw him and two strangers wander out with heavy artillery and pack them into a vehicle and take off.

Waiting for his two friends, Barry sat in the hallway to the front door, abstractedly scruffing one of his several Doberman dogs under the chin.

Who: Nicholai and HUNK
What: Nicholai's arrival and a face-to-face meeting after six years.
When: This morning
Rating: I'm putting a safe R because Nick is kind of foul.

He's snarling, nearly splitting the cigarette that is lodged between his teeth as they touch down. It has been a long ride to the island and it has been a true test of Nicholai's patience. The American pilot had been a loud and boisterous rookie who loved to tell a tale or two during the course.

Nicholai is the first to get off and the first to snag his gear from the back. He's silent, stone-cold glare set on anyone that even gives him a dirty glance. He hears the maintenance man on the other side of the chopper and instantly, he's thinking that a little blood on his face would do well for a reunion with Death. But rationality hits him like a wall and he merely spits a few choice Russian swears before slithering across the other side of the air craft.

"Oi, now, don't yee be goin' off and makin' a revolution o'dis thing, now, ey?" O'Brian, the maintenance boy, speaks up just at the time that Ginovaef thinks he is home free. The Russian stops, his neck tenses. He can feel the bones stiffening, almost begging for him to crack the kinks out and deck this Irish punk right across his pale, freckled, dumb face. But Nicholai's shoulders just fall and shake. He's laughing.

"I wonder when the British will finally wipe out that little island of yours. It is such, as you say, an eye sore. It is too bad you were not wiped out in the famine, mn? God's way of weeding out the weak. Ah, guess he has failed us." Nicholai's remark gets a loud string of swears from the crew member, but the pilot is good and steps in between. Nicholai just continues to laugh.

"Keep your dog chained next time, American pig." And off he goes, grinning all the while. His mind spins with the images of the two men at his feet, bleeding and gasping like the pair of fish they are. It sends shivers down the Russian's spine and had someone more enticing not been waiting for him, he probably would have made his dream a firm and harsh reality. But as it stands, he has other fish to cut. Namely ones with blond hair, dark and hollow eyes, and stubble that never seems to grow out of control.

You must realize, we'll never die -- we're already dead!

Who: William Birkin and Ozwell Spencer (YEAH TOTALLY RPING WITH MYSELF WHAT)
What: Birkin wakes up, takes in his new surroundings, and has a nice chat with Umbrella. Over tea. Okay, maybe not quite like that.
Where: A dungeon somewhere deep in the Umbrella complex on the outskirts of the city.

Death is unimportant to me - it's just a minor inconvenience. )

((OOC note: I wasn't sure whether to put this in the evil_talk comm or here, so just nudge me if it should be moved. My reasoning would be that a simple transcription of this phone call wouldn't catch the kinds of undercurrents.))

The number he dials is an unfamiliar one, and his scarred, knotted fingers hesitate over the buttons as he recalls the sequence. He glances down at the sheet of type-out, with columns of numbers and information, a red check mark next to his current target the sole ornament on the page.

The ring shivers into life over the line, and HUNK takes a breath, and listens to the ring.

If he knows Ginovaef as he thinks he does, there's a good chance the man won't pick up the phone, given the strange number.

But, then again, people change.

He waits.
