The Exam: IC Community

Just over a week ago, I found myself on a beach I didn't know, surrounded by people I'd mostly never met, wondering how the hell I could even be alive. Now that I've had a glimpse of what this place is like, whatever and wherever it truly is, it still beats the alternative.

I suppose there's nothing else to do than face whatever future awaits us even as I can see some of you find it more suspect than others. For myself, I hope to take lessons I learned in my last life and make something of this one while I have the chance.

Hello everyone. I'm Hazel Levesque. In case you didn't know. It seems we've got some decisions to make, so we probably should try to figure it out. We need a team name, a leader, and three volunteers.

I'll keep track of everyone who volunteers and any nominations for leadership and the names here. That way we can all see. Sound good?

Ok. So that was one mysterious door, and I definitely just walked through it. Where am I exactly? And what are the chances of one of these fancy rugs being a flying carpet?

So two things.

1. I have my things back, which is nice
2. Where's everyone else? I'm in a building that's basically a lot of yellow. I'm glad the rooms aren't painted yellow cause that would make it hard to sleep.

Woah, crazy times! I mean, I'm glad it stopped storming and thanks to whoever did me a solid and pointed me to the basement, that was a big help! But now everything's fixed, which is super great. Still haven't found ice cream yet, not super great. Eventually! I have hope.

Oh, son of a chicken biscuit, I almost forgot. I'm Matthew. My brothers are Declan and Ronan in case you know them! If you don't, you should. I like food (duh!), sports, and like, amazing jokes that are terrible! Just like, the cornier the better! Let's be friends. :)))))))

Does the 'home' door in the lobby have a special meaning?  Is it some kind of foreshadowing?  Or can we be okay if we just stay away from it?

I can't go home.  I didn't have a home.  And I died.

Even if I could go back alive, like I am here, I don't want to go back to the place I was.  I can't go back there.

This is not what I expected the afterlife to be like. I thought it would be really different, like some other world. It's good though. The beach is an amazing surprise. I hadn't been outside in so long

I just wanted to see all the people I'd lost again. Like my best friend.  Or my mom. and dad   Is there a way to find them here? 

I'm still kind of surprised how no electronics have short circuited. I'm not sure what's different from here and home, but I'm glad to have avoided it so far.

I kind of hate my lack of structure I'm feeling a little...I guess like I wanna do more than I'm doing and since food's not an issue, did anyone else want to maybe start a little training sort or thing or at least a routine so I can feel like I'm at least keeping up with things? I'm kind of used to a Roman demigod camp, so this is kind of unusual for me.

Do you want to go to the beach for a while? I know it's a lot of sun and you are the Ghost King, but it could be fun to see what being a normal kid was like for a day. It would also be nice to get to be near/around a beach without impending doom lingering over our heads.

I'm beginning to hate snow.

Checking in to see if you have a sleeping preference. I've slept a lot of weird places on our quests, so I can sleep just about anywhere, so if you want the bed, I can take the couch.

Well, home was nice while it lasted. Please just tell me this place isn't haunted, I don't wanna handle invisible ghosts again.

(Invisible ghosts as opposed to the non-invisible, normal ghosts that I can usually see, for the record.)

I didn't think anything would be a downgrade after the haunted house, but it seems our gracious host has outdone themself this time. Very Soviet chic, my Yelp review will not be kind.
