Welcome to The Jungle
How The Game Is Played
TIME/DAYS & LEVELS/EPISODES:
For This Challenge, Time Will move at a 3 OOC Day to 1 IC day ratio once more. Jumanji is laid out a bit like
Super Mario Three
: it will have 6 levels, and 2 - 3 episodes in each level. An "Episode" should take about 2-3 IC days (or about a week) or less to complete. However, the four groups will not be moving on all at the same time. Groups must participate in the game to complete episodes, and move through the levels.
Groups & Characters:
There are four groups (Monkey, Crocodile, Rhino & Elephant). These groups can always communicate on the network. When groups are on the same level & episode, they can thread/meet in person. You
cannot
switch groups once the game begins. As is customary, the first "Day" in Jumanji will be orientation day. After that, groups cannot be changed for any reason. New characters can add themselves to
teams
when they are added to the game.
Dropped Characters
Characters who are dropped during this scenario will be killed in the Jumanji Jungle. At any point, characters who participate and perform injuries rolls and
roll death
are out until the
end
of the scenario. Which'll be like, a long time from now so use that cautiously.
Day Rolls
At the beginning of each new IC Day, Team Monkey, Crocodile, Rhino & Elephant get
2 rolls
each. Rolls are first come, first serve, however
players only get to roll for one team per day
Meaning, if Anna has characters in Monkey and Crocodile, she can only roll for either Monkey or Crocodile: not both. Since we have fewer players now, I won't be policing rolls,
communicate
with your teams if you'd like to do a roll the following day or if you feel like you aren't getting a turn. I'll keep an eye out for players who seem overlooked, but communication is important!
Remember
: if you didn't roll, you can still participate with the person who
did
roll.
Items From Home
- Items from home and things at the compound (like pets) stay at the compound. Instead, you've been given some great
duds
for this scenario. You're also given a bottle of sunscreen that never runs out, a 24 oz water bottle that is always full and always cold, two handguns, matches, rope, and a machete. You might be able to find (and lose) items along your journey.
Powers Are ON
- You can use them to help you through the jungle.
TEAMS:
Most of the characters have already been sorted onto teams. If your character is new or you got missed, you can add yourself to the team of your choosing but it cannot be changed. All the teams can be found

Setting
This
Map RIGHT HERE
is going to be your best friend. You might recognize it as the map that was put together during the beach resort room. At the end of each IC day the mods will update the map to show the general whereabout of each of the four groups - Monkey, Crocodile, Rhino & Elephant. So keep an eye on it.
You are now all in a very special, very dangerous jungle. You should anticipate that everything you encounter will probably want to kill you - either for food, or just for fun! The weather is hot, the freshwater aside from your provided bottle is scarce. Gathering or hunting will be necessary to find food.
You'll learn more about the specifics of each level and episode, and the kinds of wildlife and plants you will encounter as you go through Jungle and play the game, so keep an eye out on the day-to-day posts, and this post to learn more as players progress.
LEVEL ONE - Journey to the Flaming Castle
Welcome to the Jungle
- The members of
Crocodile, Rhino, Elephant & Monkey
all wake up in different rooms throughout a small village with red roofs. (You can all decide where your character wakes up and with whom). They have their supplies and clothing as previously mentioned. They'll notice their abilities are non-existent.
LUTHER HARGREEVES
,
HAN SOLO
,
LOKI LAUFEYSON
&
SABINA WILSON
have all been given
a 20 sided dice
and
a list of their team members
. You four are the
dice keepers
for the entire length of the room. You get cool dice, and you get to make sure that your team does their daily roll.
RONAN LYNCH
,
NED LEEDS
,
JEFFERSON
&
MAL
you four have been chosen as the messengers for the entire length of the room. Whenever your team reaches a new episode, you'll be given the objective riddle that your team needs to solve to finish the episode and advance. You'll be given the messages for the first episode on IC Day 2.
For the duration of
Day One
it's impossible to leave the village. It's possible to see dense forests to the north but attempting to leave the village is impossible. There is a variety of meats, fruits, vegetables and sweets for consumption, people are free to move about and get a sense of who is new and who is gone.
It's
HOT
outside, and there is no air conditioning, but there is electricity and fans everywhere. There are bug nets over all the beds, and keeping fruits and foods in your bedroom at night would be a bad idea. Most of the insects are unidentifiable, which means it's really impossible to know what spiders are venomous and which are not.
The sun is going to set very late in the day, sometime after 11pm, so the day will be very long. Which is probably a good thing, because the forest at night is loud with the sounds of frogs and night predators.
EPISODE ONE BEGINS FRIDAY MORNING
BONUS GAME!
LIST
Once characters move away from town, besides their water bottles, getting supplies will be touch. Players can randomly find care packages in the wilderness which will contain medical supplies, food or other items folks might need as they traverse the jungle. To initiate one of these random supply drops, characters must write a thread or network post conversation (threads require 3 replies each, network posts require six replies each). Once you have completed your pairing, leave a comment with a link
HERE
to get your reward.
After a few people have completed their pairings, new lists will be generated with new partners. I know that Monkey/Rhino/Elephant/Crocodile can't intermingle physically if there are in different spots on the board, so threads might not always be possible, which is why network comments are also fine :)

- Character Death. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. (Character can re-enter the game in the next "Room" but with no prior memories of being in the Jumanji Room)
Injuries carry over from one "Episode" to the next.
If you die in an "Episode" the character dies for the rest of the room. Your character can come back in the next room, but they won't remember anything that happened in the Jumanji Room.
If you want an injury roll, You can always select a range! You can decide before we start how much of a risk you want to take.
Rolls are done with Discord, using the Tatsumaki bot.
If you don't have access to Discord you can ask your designated Dice Roller to do the roll for you.
Some characters have healing capabilities. Either the ability to magically heal others, or magically heal themselves. That will be dealt with in a variety of ways, depending on what players want to play out. For the most part, characters with medical/healing capabilities will be able to treat characters but not remove permanent injuries or death.
Characters who cannot die, like Deadpool or Wolverine, for example, will just not be able to Roll past d18.
Likewise, Synthezoids/Robots/Androids will not be able to roll past a d18, and they can modify the results of the rolls to be more tech-friendly if necessary.
