Characters: Victoria Frobisher and OPENNNNNN.
Setting: July 5th, 8ish pm.
Rating: PG? PG-13? I don't know.
Victoria was working evening, which translated to noon to 10 pm, which was the most joyous of shifts to have, really, especially when the kids were sick and she'd had exactly two and a quarter hours of sleep last night (she'd counted). On top of that the patients were unruly, some of them short in tempers, some claiming that someone was talking to them (and not only the ones with recorded problems of the sort), and those who did not were glued to the windows, sighing about the awfulness of the riots.
Vic didn't disagree with that. Riots were idiotic, and she rather liked being able to go home without getting a bottle pitched at her head.
It was well into the evening when Rosie of the lavender perfume and fashionably red hair (fire engine red; very fetching) alerted her to the smoke. It was thick and wafting past the window on the second floor. It only took seconds before she found herself on the street, trying to find out what was going on. The answer was, of course, a simple one. Riots came with fire. It was some sort of rule. This was no different.
"Shit," she said eloquently as her brain started to figure out a plan that would actually work. The fire didn't look like it was going to die out any time soon. Presumably the fire brigade was on its way, but it was inching closer to the nursing home and -
Yeah. This was just what she needed today.
