Empire Ants

I haven't seen the show, but I adore this guy's face so I knew these caps had to be iconned. This is the second half of a set too large for IJ's post sizes.

Netflix lighting will someday be the death of my sanity. But I emerged this time. So, have a set of icons so massive it had to be split in two, made with caps from eggplants. ♥

Managed to recover most of these from the wayback machine, and just replaced the single watermarked one with the closest equivalent in my higher-quality remake of the set. But I just had to share these, because the death of hollow-art - how I miss it so - led me down a fascinating rabbit hole in which I've made new friends and discovered new things to read.


( It's really not as good as the hype would make you believe. Use the remake instead. )

I tried, I survived for so long... and then I lost all my mental energy and just rushed through the home stretch to be able to call this done. Not to say I didn't put in an effort, but you can tell I stopped being as picky about colour correction and lighting.


( What would you do if you were sentenced to a prison where half the inmates were put there by you? )

This particular batch took an entire week to finish. Here is where my attempts to turn this movie from a dark, blue-green mess into viable icons became whimpering at my computer and finding every possible excuse to do anything else.


( I know I'm not one of your favorites. I'm not even welcome in your house. But, I could use a little attention.  )

Making this massive, four-part set of two thousand and sixty-four icons nearly broke me. At several points, I threw my hands in the air and declared my attempts to fix lighting and colour grading good enough. So just know that I tried until I could not try anymore and suddenly understand why only a select few scenes were iconned by others who tackled this movie.


( Close your eyes. And whatever happens, don't look. )

Just a remake of an old set which I removed from this comm a while back because the quality wasn't high enough. Included a small number of the old ones here, but these are mostly new. Made using ancient images in my original Keanu Reeves folder from a laptop and a half ago. (If you don't have a Keanu Reeves folder, you're doing something wrong, tbh.)

A set of Mark Consuelos in Riverdale season two, using specific caps chosen by my lovely parabatai whose infinite patience and concern has been an immense help in navigating the stressful holiday season.

I wish I could say these all came out great, but the lighting on Riverdale is atrocious enough to make kittens cry - and, as it were, to make toning down the dramatic background colours nigh impossible without doing funky things to people's skin tones. I tried, and then I glared intensely and gave up when they were close enough.
