Hello everyone, are you all well? Today was incredibly beautiful, and thus I hope you spent your day in the warm sun. I am very sorry this is coming at such short notice, but I'm afraid my hands have been tied, and I assure you not in the literal sense. My birthday is this Friday, and rather than organizing anything particularly lavish, I had thought perhaps we could have a picnic in the park during the lunch hour. Pastries, finger foods, sandwiches, cold tea and the like.

If you should like to attend, please let me know! I miss you all terribly, and you will be in my thoughts if you cannot make this.

In the spirit of providing an opportunity to relax and enjoy the fine weather, the Mages' Guild of Emillion will be organizing the construction and maintenance of palings around a stretch of beach this upcoming Friday, Leo 24. This initiative will allow for anybody who wishes to visit the beach, swim or partake in other such summer activities to do so freely without worrying about monsters or such dangers.

It is our hope that this beach day will give a boost to city morale and allow for a respite from recent troubles. A significant number of our mages will be pooling their efforts to make such a thing possible; they will be in charge of maintaining the palings throughout the day and assuring the safety of those who may wish to attend. Mage volunteers will be wearing bright orange sashes for their identification, and citizens who have questions or concerns are welcome to approach them if they wish to discuss said questions or concerns.

Should said questions concern matters beyond the mechanics of the palings, I shall also be assisting and wearing a similar sash, and will gladly address questions and speak to any who may wish it.

To do so, I have decided to follow up on the suggestion of Miss Hippolyta Flynn and organize a night out for the taskforce.

You may already be familiar with the pub called The Kranky Knight, located in the Bazaar; if not, please refer to the map attached to this message. I have spoken to the owner to arrange for the reservation of a few tables for use by taskforce members on the evening of Leo 25 August 16, as well as to set up a tab for the group. You are free to put your first drink on said tab, and I shall settle it at the end of the evening; however, I am afraid you are on your own when it comes to subsequent drinks. Attendance is in no way mandatory.

Trouble in the Outlands, approaching the city. Those who can fight are encouraged to do so. We must do what we can to aid the other guilds as well as the city's inhabitants.

I just had the news from Aspel Councilor Cassul. I am headed out.

The Mages' Guild in Emillion has received word from a secluded monastery in the Outlands. They are offering to donate a caché of White Magic spell scrolls; however, as the monastery is quite out of the way of regular merchant traffic, the Guild is looking to recruit three to six volunteers to make the trek there and retrieve these scrolls, then bring them back to the city, and the Tower.

A map of the area will be provided. Considering the monastery's location, we anticipate the journey there will take more than one day. Our Guild will cover the volunteers' lodging expenses at an inn along the road, and we shall also provide for other traveling expenses.

Ideally, we seek three to four mages as well as two escorts skilled in combat; we do not anticipate this job will pose particular danger, though we must be prepared all the same. At the successful completion of the task, all volunteers will be paid 900g as well as gifted an accessory known as a Leather Gorget, which raises magic attacks when the wearer's health has reached critical levels.

I have been able to sort through some of the papers I found when Perdita assisted me with cleanup on the tenth floor. I have some serious concerns, and still far more questions than answers.

It also seems from my meeting with my contact in the EKP that some individuals are choosing not to report cases of assault or harassment to the guild. I am uncertain what, if anything, should be done.

On behalf of the Mages' Guild, I would like to thank those who have so far contributed to the reconstruction efforts around Emillion as well as in the environs of the Mages' Tower, including of course those who have given their support to those who needed it. There is much left to accomplish yet, but I am proud to announce that repairs are coming along nicely.

The Fighters' and Bards' Guild have our heartfelt appreciation as well, for their invaluable support and their continuing efforts to cooperate with our guild to make Emillion a better and safer place to live in.

The offer of assistance that I announced weeks ago as Councilor still stands, and I would like to renew it as Sage. Any who find themselves in need of help may come to us, if they so wish, and we will do our best to provide.

Additionally, as the lower floors of the Tower are completely rebuilt and classes have resumed, I would like to invite those still concerned with the way our guild operates to come observe one or several of the basic classes being taught to scholars, over the next month and starting this upcoming Monday. A list of classes available for free audit will be made public this evening. Members of the other guilds and citizens alike are welcome to attend, with the understanding that the Tower is a place of learning and that atmosphere should not be disturbed. We also cannot promise that those who attend will emerge accomplished casters, as such is a matter of magical affinity and discipline, though our instructors will be happy to answer lesson-related questions as they would for any other student.
