She had lost track of the time. Not unusual when she danced - she tended to lose herself to the music and the movement, seeking perfection in every line of her body and every twist of her limbs - but she'd told Ci she'd be there before three to discuss the various changes she had been looking to implement. So when she'd seen that the clock had read two o'clock, she'd cursed.
At least she'd remembered to grab the folder, she thought as she rinsed off. No point in showing up unprepared, and when it came to Ci, that meant anything that could give him an advantage. She was already tired, and that was the biggest up she'd give him. She tossed on a pair of cut-off trousers she had made herself and a sleeveless tunic. The weather had become warmer than she preferred, and the less clothing she had to wear, the better.
It was a fifteen minute walk from the crystal if she strolled about leisurely, but if she hoofed it, she could get there in less than eight. 2:20. Yup, hoofing it. Which, actually, wasn't a bad idea when in the Tenements.
By the time she reached the offices, she had two minutes to spare before 2:30. They hadn't agreed on a specific meeting time, just a length. Ci had said he was free until three. This way, there was no potential for the meeting to run over, not that she expected it to. This wasn't exactly something she'd been looking forward to, even less so after the zombies Friday night, but business was business, and she wasn't making any changes without Ci's approval.
It still rankled that she needed his approval. Not so much about her personal life anymore - she was her own person, thank you very much, and if she'd cared so much, she'd have quit her gig at Ruby ages ago - but secretly, she preferred it when he was on board with whatever it was she was doing. It made things easier, and usually, she'd just send whatever proposal she had ahead, color coded and tabbed to make things easier for him. She had an entire system set up: red for the Ring, white for general business, green for the new info gig he'd given her. There were two other folders - orange and yellow - but those were for her own benefit.
She knocked on the door - she always had a hard time remembering exactly where it was since she came around so infrequently - and opened it up, walking in without waiting for a response. "Sup, Ci?"
