The crystalline shatter of ice echoed through what had become nearly muted air with an unusual snowfall and water freezing in each area the Ice Elementals, Ice Azers and Shiva! touched. No words would be spoken as the path before them froze as the creatures floated forward, and their queen directed each new movement, each new piece of ground gained with a simple forward gesture of her sword. The Elementals and Azers mindlessly obeyed, flying forward in front, and cover behind their frozen-hearted goddess, their lord and master of ice. Their frozen trail began in the woods, cutting through creature, tree, and hume that stood in the way. It wouldn’t take long to figure out what their intended final destination was, and quickly it became quite clear that they did not intended to be stopped. Shiva’s eyes remained set on the city in the far, far distance, the one she could feel humming, calling to her, and crying for her help. With each foot of ground gained, with each section of distance covered Shiva felt the call grow louder. This was a place that needed to be frozen, and saved. From the guard station outside the palings, the sheet glean of ice, the white of snow could be seen on the horizon a creature approaching in the distance, and by this time, the men knew perfectly how to react. Handing off shifts, and positions, one instantly ran for help while the others steeled themselves at the gates. Whatever threat was out there wasn’t far now as the temperature of the very air around them dropped, and the ice queen could be seen in the far distance, but… If they got troops out there quick enough, then she could be kept quite far from the city yet. Hopefully, all would work as planned as she continued to glide closer, and the guards steeled for what could potentially be one frosty fight. |
