The Tipsy Sheep was one of the few of the nicer establishments in Emillion -- that he could afford anyway -- whose owners Kiernan had yet to offend. Maybe the patronage here was more laid back, or less drunk, though the latter seemed unlikely. All the same, Kiernan had never found himself involved in a fight for someone's drunken sense of honor or dignity, and he had managed not to go home with any of the waitresses, having found luck with fellow customers on a wintry nights instead.
Still, it was a good bar to greet a newcomer to the city, and here Jareth would find friendlier greetings there than on the network.
He had bristled when he saw how Theo and Divina reacted to the guy; less because he felt sorry for Jareth but more because he saw himself in his youth in their words and actions. Jareth seemed a man capable of standing up for himself though, so Kiernan had stayed out of it, offering a drink for a welcome instead.
He never usually said no to a friendly or not-so friendly spar, but a berserker stacked against a dragoon would not have provided for Jareth's needs. Drake would be a better match; even better, Aspel, who had also offered her services. Theo probably would have been the guy's best chance, but that didn't seem likely to happen. Ah, well. There were other berserkers, and besides, the guild may not necessarily pit him against one in the test, whatever that entailed.
Kiernan took a seat at the bar and ordered his usual, gaining him an amused smile from the bartender. "Extra strawberries?" he teased.
A man's not a man until he learned the true meaning of no shame. "Give me all you've got," returned Kiernan with a wink. He glanced back at the door, keeping an eye out for any well-built man who looked lost enough to be considered new to walk through the door, happily sipping away at the red-colored drink placed before him.
