What: A ball!
Where: The Albrecht Estate

Status: In progress
The announcement would wait until the majority of the invited guests - and those who had not been invited but had managed to infiltrate the ball regardless of status - had arrived. Genevieve, ever the gracious hostess, ensured that every person in attendance was personally greeted soon after arrival. Alys would have to do the same once she had been announced, and it was something that Genevieve was only slightly concerned about. She had invited the entirety of Audrey's guild in hopes that it would make the young woman more comfortable, and it remained to be seen if Genevieve's forethought would have any impact.
Neither Aspel nor Magnolia would be in attendance, and she knew that Azalea would have a great many questions once Alys had been introduced, so aside from a brief perfunctory greeting, she steered clear of her friend. There were more important things to worry about at the moment and once said things had been taken care of, Genevieve could relax and allow Azalea to grill her.
Once it seemed like at least half of the town was in attendance, Genevieve ascended the dais that had been placed in the ballroom for the occasion, and motioned for the room to quiet. Alys stood to the side, awaiting her announcement.
"Thank you all for coming on such short notice. It is truly appreciated," she began. "Now, I imagine you all must be wondering about a great many things, and I shall clear one of them up for you this evening." She looked to Alys, who joined her on the dais. "Lords and Ladies, ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you Lady Alys Coulombe, eldest daughter of the late Coulombe family."
