Merrion had woken up this morning unable to move, his nose stuffed up, and his eyes refusing to open. He only had enough time to be thankful that this illness had waited until after the festival to hit before he promptly fell back asleep.
He didn't feel much better when he woke up again closer to noon, but at least he had the energy to pull himself out of bed. After a hot bath, which cleared up his sinuses at least though he knew it wouldn't last long, he searched his shelves for a potion to help tide him over before he was able to see a white mage, but to his dismay, he was all out of, well, everything.
Merrion had no choice. He needed to find a white mage and fast before his sickness got any worse. He grabbed his handkerchief and put it over his nose and mouth and rushed out the door to the nearest clinic, who immediately turned him away. And so it happened over and over again until he reached Cormac's, where his assistant at least let him into the lobby but refused to inform Cormac that he needed assistance.
"But my nose was stuffed up this morning!" Merrion cried, but the assistant just shook her head and claimed it was probably just allergies. Just allergies! "But I closed my door and shut my windows! Quiz couldn't have possibly have gotten in!" Then the assistant opened her mouth, paused, and then promptly shut it with an audible sigh.
His heart nearly leaped for joy and relief when she stood from her desk and went towards the back. Was she getting Cormac after all? But she returned with only a bottle. Well, a potion was better than nothing, he conceded, though he really wished that a white mage would just see him already. Merrion fished out some coin in exchange for the potion, wondering if he should be satisfied with just this or if he should try his luck elsewhere. Oh, how he wished he was better at white magic!
