Summary: Tom makes a discovery, and Remus doesn't have a choice in his response.

celandineb, who stumped me in the Stump the Author Meme and asked for a Harry Potter/History Boys crossover. Corresponds with Saving, but you don't necessarily have to have read it first.
Remus has a habit of writing everything on parchment, and Tom can't fathom where one even finds parchment in this day and age, and when he questions Remus about it, casually, on a Sunday, Remus changes the subject and goes to make two cups of tea.
There is a box in the wardrobe that Tom can't open, no matter how hard he tries. It's the length of Tom's forearm, and he can't tell what material it's made from. There is a faded tag attached to it, and Tom can't make out the words. Remus says it's nothing Tom needs to worry about, that there's nothing inside it, and Tom rattles it and hears nothing and supposes Remus must be right.
Tom never saw so many owls in his life before. He thinks the city should do something about them.
They are kissing on the sofa one evening when something presses against Tom's thigh, and it's too long and thin to be an erection. Tom pulls away and looks down, and Remus mutters shit and moves his hand to cover his pocket, but Tom's hand gets there first.
Remus says I can't believe I did it again, and his voice is sad, and Tom doesn't know why. And then Remus draws a stick from his pocket and presses him to the sofa and kisses his mouth and says Tom, I'm a wizard. This is my wand, and I'm sorry I have to do this again.
And before Tom can move or protest or question, Remus has the wand against Tom's head and—
