Hermione had finally departed for her holiday with Viktor, leaving behind three pages of instructions, a large tin of Kneazle food, and a very put-out Crookshanks. Harry and Ron stared at the animal for a moment, and Crookshanks stared back at them, unblinking, then leapt from his perch on the kitchen table and sauntered towards the bedroom.

Ron followed, watching Crookshanks make himself at home between the pillows on the bed Ron and Harry shared.

"Well, damn," came Harry's voice from the doorway.

"What's wrong? You're not allergic or anything," Ron replied, turning around.

Harry smirked and moved forward, wrapping his arms around Ron's waist.

"I had planned to be shagging you rotten on that bed right about now," he said, "But I suppose we'll just have to defile the sofa instead."
