Summary: Percy teaches Harry a Wizarding Christmas carol.
Notes: An Advent Drabble for celandineb, who requested Percy/Harry, "when the snow lay round about".

Harry hums snatches of tunes—carols—he says he picked them up from hearing them on the wireless in his aunt and uncle's house at Christmastime when he was a kid. And then he'd start humming and forget himself and get smacked (or locked in his cupboard, depending on Uncle Vernon's mood that day), but still he hums the tunes around the house.

Percy doesn't know any of the songs—some of the tunes are familiar, but Harry knows different words.

"What's that one?" Percy asks. Harry is humming absently to himself as he makes dinner.

"It's called 'Good King Wenceslas'," replies Harry, and he starts to pass plates to Percy, who sets them on the table, shaking his head.

"It's called 'Merlin's Christmas Sock'," he retorts, and Harry laughs at this, a big belly laugh, leaning against the counter, dropping a serving spoon on the floor.

Percy shoves his glasses up on his nose. "No, really, it is," he says earnestly, "I'll sing it for you if you'd like."

And Harry nods. "God, yes. Please do. I can't wait to hear this."

Percy knows his voice is shaky and not strong, but he knows all the words to Merlin's Christmas Sock, of course, and he settles next to Harry at the table and begins to sing softly as he passes the squash.

Harry forgets to laugh after the first line and falls into silence, resting his chin on his elbow and smiling. When Percy finishes the last verse of the children's Christmas carol, Harry leans over and kisses him.

"What was that for?" asks Percy, touching his cheek with his fingertips and smiling.

"You just keep reminding me why I love you so much," Harry replied, "Now let's eat."
