Description

The apartments are two four-story red brick buildings with sidewalks leading up to a secure front entryway. There are windows - some clear and some frosted - on all four sides. Inside, each floor has a hallway lined with doors, four per floor. Each door opens to a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment of reasonable size. On the rooftop of the first building is a secure garden run by

wortcunning, with more dangerous and toxic plants for medicinal purposes.

There is nothing on the exterior of the building to identify who owns it or who lives there, save for the names at the intercom box by the front door. A good many of those surnames listed are "Elric".

Good luck figuring out which one lives in which apartment.

A bit aways from the two apartments, and the garden-park between them is a third building, very much professional in appearance, with a sign over the main entry doors, identifying it as the

rockbell_clinic, a full-service hospital and automail clinic.

supermans_dead realized that Riza's small, two-bedroom apartment, while comfortable for one, maybe two people, was too small for all three of them. The only acceptable solution was to locate a bigger place, as he wasn't willing to leave either of them.

While searching for information on that, a solution came to light: transmutate their own residence.

With that option presented,

supermans_dead took it a step farther and created a building suitable for all the various Eds and Als in the Nexus to reside, if they so wished, as well as a few others.

It was a process that took several days, layer by layer to build up all the supports and plumbing, and another day of getting an electrician to check the wiring before putting in the walls and windows. But finally, it was open for business.

light_of_day, but we're more here just to do technical maintenance and whatnot on the comm and handle trolls.

elric_apts will hopefully be a self-modded comm - we can all play nice together and work out our own differences, yes? There really aren't many rules beyond common sense ones.

1) Keep content to an R rating or lower. If an RP starts taking a turn for something a bit hotter, one of the participants should make a post in their own character journal and link to where the RP cuts off in the comm and continue off the comm in their own journal.

2) LJ-cut long posts and large images -- some of us still have dialup. D: Oh, yeah, and definitely Lj-cut and warn for any posts/links that have a NSFW content or potential.

3) No major alterations to the apartment structure or building without IC clearance, since realistically, something like that would require looking over blueprints and making sure nothing goes kerblooey -- that the support beams aren't taken out, that the electrical wiring isn't damaged - same for plumbing -- and making sure the building can handle the adjustments desired. Minor in-apartment remodeling (like renovating the bathroom or kitchen, making it a one or three bedroom apartment [at the expense of room size], thickening the walls for better soundproofing to drown out late night neighbory noises -- although Ed's already made the walls thicker than the average apartment, etc.) is fine though. But no adding on entire new rooms or expanding an upper floor, things like that. If needed, it's allowed -- we'd just have to go over it IC and see what kind of overall reconstruction the building would need to allow for that adjustment. (In short, a character wants a third, normal-sized bedroom or an office room? "Hey, Ed? I live on X floor, and I really need Y done to my apartment. What are our options?" - and it'll go ICly from there.)

4) No elephants on the third floor. (See? Common sense rules! :D)
