((Open.))

It had been a while since Ed had worked out, so he figured today was as good a day to do so as any.

He started off wearing a shirt but at some point discarded it so it wouldn't get too sweaty. He's been sparring against an imaginary opponent for at least an hour and he's starting to look like he's in need of a breather.

Ed's eyes narrow. "I hope something more was done about him."

"I dunno if Mom killed him or not with that frying pan. Uncle Roy was more focused on getting us here at first, and then later, well, he's supposed to be dead in our world, honestly. And it would cause more problems than it would fix if he went back to do something. I might still go back someday, once he teaches me his alchemy, and make sure he's dead."

Ed frowns. "You shouldn't be so eager to kill someone. Even if he is a bastard. And I somehow doubt that Mustang will teach you flame alchemy so you can kill the guy."

Ed makes a mental note to himself to tell Roy what Josiah said about wanting to kill his father. He thought that he'd better have a heads up about that.

"So he says, but you know he'd do it himself if it wouldn't screw up his own faked death," Josiah complained.

"He's military. He's used to killing people and dealing with the emotional shit that comes with it. You aren't," Ed points out. "For that matter, neither am I."

"I grew up watching him turn Mom into his personal punching bag, and Abby's only now starting to talk. She's ten. She could talk, she was just too scared to. I dunno about killing just anybody, but I'm pretty sure I can deal with killing him," Josiah argued.

Ed folds his arms across his chest. "Okay, so let's say that you've killed him using flame alchemy. Then what? You gonna be able to sleep at night with the memory of watching him burn playing through your head? It ain't a pleasant way to die. I can't imagine that the smell would be all that great either."

"Better than sleeping at night with the memory of him beating the shit outta Mom playing through my head," he countered. "What if your dad did that to your mom?"

Ed goes quiet for a moment.

"Good point," he admits.
