WHO: Daphne Greengrass & Theodore Nott. WHAT: Daphne has something to show Theodore. WHERE: The Greengrass Estate - the library. WHEN: A little after this. RATING: Relatively low.
Arpeggios resonated from the library as Daphne attempted to tune her violin. Keys on the piano echoed through the room as strings from her violin were plucked as well. Each sequence of notes came with a long pause as Daphne turned the knobs on the strings to fix the notes. It was the only thing Daphne could do to keep from obsessing about the coin which seemed to stare at her from across the piano where she placed it on a thick piece of cloth to stop from ruining her sister's piano even further. The message glared back at her from the envelope,
Choose a side, or one will be chosen for you.
Why did that envelope make it seem so easy? As if proclaiming one side or the other had the authority to dictate her life. If Daphne wasn't so stubborn, she would have joined the Death Eaters by now. Unfortunately, her own bullheadedness prevented her from even considering their cause as a way of life. Her loyalty laid with her family, and Daphne wasn't about to betray them. What confused her about the message was that all this time she thought she was in support of the Death Eaters. She never questioned their actions, and in her own subliminal way, she praised what they were doing. She just didn't want to join them. Though, with this new threat creeping a little close to home, Daphne was beginning to wonder if maybe helping them a little bit might prove to be beneficial. She wasn't about to die for them, but she could certainly strive to aid them to the best of her ability. Would that be enough to keep the Death Eaters away from her family?
Daphne's ears perked up as she heard her house elf shouting protests about entering the library to someone. A tiny smirk curled on her lips, as the elf was chased after Theodore in hopes of stopping him from going further into the library. Playing another series of arpeggios on her violin, Daphne pretended not to notice the pair entering the library. That was until the elf got a horrified look on his face when it realized it was hearing Daphne play. Deciding to leave, the elf vanished, leaving Theodore on his own.
"I really do detest that thing," Daphne finally spoke, as she glanced over at Theodore.
