Draco stiffened as he watched her stand up from her seat and his eyes watched her closely. His heart rate increased the slightest bit as a wave of adrenaline pulsed through his body and he felt his mouth go dry just as the bartender returned with his tea. Thank Merlin He thought to himself as he reached for the tea without his eyes leaving Andromeda. Once he’d placed a hand on his teacup, Draco glanced quickly, raised the cup to his lips and took a small sip before he set the teacup back down on the bar.
Once she’d spoken again, Draco’s fears and curiosities became intertwined and he felt his proverbial jaw drop upon the confirmation of her identity. He glanced down at her extended hand and in a moment’s flash, made a decision that could possibly change his entire life; though, he had no way of knowing such at that time. But even so, the moment he made the decision, Draco knew that in that decision a new course had somehow forged its way from the utter abyss.
Draco returned his eyes to look at Andromeda and extended his own hand to meet with hers in mutual greeting. “Mrs. Andromeda Tonks.” Draco said slowly with a slight gracious nod, being sure to add in the polite honourific as was due to an elder as such, and in that small additional distinction, essentially dismissing the fact that the woman before him had been blasted from their family tree and had been considered dead to them for what had been Draco’s entire life – that is, until now.
