He frowned as he waited, hoping that Hannah was still expecting him. He knew that he'd taken a little longer to get here than he'd recently planned, and so he was certain she may have forgotten he was coming over. Yet, at that moment, the door opened and his smile immediately grew far more friendly, but dimmed just a bit at her eyes. The smile no longer so much 'happy' as it was comforting.
He waved to Honey a moment, before blinking as she was suddenly moving towards him. He moved quickly to drop the basket to the ground, knowing ther ewas nothing breakable in there, before wrapping his own arms around her in a return hug. His arms clutched, and a tightness was put behind his embrace, as if saying he was there for her. He didn't know if she wanted comfort, safety, protection, friendship, or what, but he was there for whatever she needed. His hug tight and strong to make sure she felt the warmth and strength in it.
He brushed his cheek into her soft hair, before swallowing and not saying much of anything, offering only a mild, "I'm sorry Hannah." It was something he'd already said, and it was something meant to be strong for her.
Yet he knew right now she'd heard enough words, he could tell in her buried face that she needed this. So he kept everything to himself--in truth he had no idea what to say--and instead he just stood there, eyes falling shut a moment as he held her.
