Who: Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. What: Reunion. Where: Harry and Ron's flat. When: Eight weeks after the final battle. Rating: Low. Unless Ron swears a lot.
Hermione folded up the last letter she had received from Ron and tucked it into her pocket. She hadn't replied, unable to think of a suitable answer to the continued question. It had been the same thing for the last few weeks and though she kept reminding him to be patient, it wasn't really one of Ron's strong points. He was right though, six weeks was a lengthy amount of time and the longest they had been apart in quite a while. But she needed the time to herself and the time back in the relative simplicity of the Muggle world. Even if she did miss everyone.
Deciding on the spur of the moment four days after receiving Ron's latest letter that she was 'done with her alone time' as he kept putting it, she had sought help from her parents in finding her own flat in London and they were currently in the process of packing up her things to move in. Hermione had every intention of getting herself organised and in her new place before she made the transition back into the wizarding world, but she was halfway through stacking books into a box before she just left it as it was, telling her parents she was heading out and making her way to Diagon Alley.
Both Harry and Ron had given her their new address, and she found it rather easily. Being back in Diagon made her smile, and Hermione made a mental note to make a quick trip to Flourish & Blotts before she went home. With that still on her mind, she was standing in front of the door to the flat before she knew it. Raising her hand to knock, her heart skipped a beat. Six weeks really was a long time.
As the door opened and Ron stood in front of her, "Um, hello," was all she could think to say, slightly startled by his appearance, despite the fact she had far more prior knowledge of this impromptu visit than he could possibly have.
