Neville, too, was impressed with the grandeur and elegance displayed in the halls of the Ministry of Magic, eyes finding all the decorations and following them from their origins to their destinations. From archways to windows, or the tree; he couldn't help but grin at the image before him, happy to have a sense of both normalcy and happiness after a nearly full year of hell and torment.
Yet even now, Neville found himself nervous. While he trusted, knew, and cared a great deal for the woman at his right, he was still nervous as could be. He cared for all of his friends, of course, and had been through quite a bit with them all, coming more and more out of his shell as the days went on--yet even despite all that, Neville found a completely torturous fear of women that might be a bit on the surreal side. He wasn't incapable of talking, he just didn't have the confidence to pull off the suave nature so many of the men at this ball would be able to.
Yet, even with that weakness, he found himself at least in the company of someone he knew and trusted, and Luna's infectious smile warmed him enough to the idea that he wouldn't be stumbling quite as badly over his words. After all they'd just come as friends, right? What were his expectations? Were there any? And the mental interrogation began.
"It is lovely, truly remarkable. I'm glad to see a spark of this nature during such a rough time," he grinned and then looked towards her as he raised a brow.
Dressed in his nicest Auror robes, which were black in colour as was per usual; it allowed him to feel a bit more elegant and professional, though his gran wasn't too thrilled that he'd decided to go without his sweater she'd made for him. He promised he'd wear it at something a little less formal, and that seemed to have appeased her now.
He watched Luna a moment, and when she turned to face him his hands seemed unsure of what to do, or where to go, so instead they claspped at the front of his stomach and he just smiled, "Well a dance surely would be nice. Though I assure you that I'm probably far less talented than you when it comes to dancing, Luna. Though I would like to, even if it might make us have to ice up after."
