Ginny wasn't the type to stress about what her date was wearing. She had chosen a vivid red dress that went perfectly with Dean's black dress robes, but really, she wouldn't have cared if they'd clashed. They were here to have fun, not look perfect! They did look very striking together, but that was just a bonus.
As she and Dean walked in to the atrium, she had admired the decorations. It really was a winter wonderland and made the evening that much more enchanting, in Ginny's opinion. Catching sight of a friend she hadn't seen in ages, she had said something to Dean about quickly saying hi but her words were lost in the noise of the chatter of guests all around them.
After a few minutes of excited chatter with a friend from her year at Hogwarts, Ginny turned back to Dean and realised she had lost him. Oops. Glancing around, she caught sight of Charlie and George together, her parents talking to someone she didn't recognise, many couples dancing together, Ron and Hermione (she winced and quickly turned away, not wanting Ron to get mad at her in person this time) and as she turned again, she saw Dean a bit further along.
Moving back to his side, she linked arms with him and smiled up at him. "Shall we dance, Mr Thomas?"
