Unsure how to take the Ministry Christmas Charity Ball, but that wasn't enough to be one of the no shows the event. Dean had made an appearence fairly early, dressed in black dress robes. Maybe he should have consulted with Ginny to coordinate together, but that was the last thing on his mind during the time that he spent with her the previous day. After all, black mostly goes with everything, right? He knew girls enjoyed that type of thing, especially throughout the years that he had known Lavender, but he was hoping that his date wouldn't mind the slightest. It really wasn't in him to remember the smallest detail as to match with one's date during such an event, which he became throughly aware as he glanced at those who had already made an appearence within the ball, no matter how he acted around most girls.
The decorations seemed as though the Ministry had gone all out for merely a few hours within a day. It wasn't as though everything would last much longer, even though he was raised as a Muggleborn. Decorating for the holidays was something that Dean enjoyed quite a bit. Of course, it seemed as though such things were more fun during his younger years. That didn't mean he didn't think they seemed wonderful at glance. Just over done in his opinion.
Losing sight of Ginny for a moment, Dean glanced around for his date. After all, she couldn't have gotten too far. He half expected Seamus to not be to far as well, if he was showing up all together. Things had seemed to rush in together that time slipped through his hands, not having a chance to even ask his best mate. Having a couple of second thoughts as well about making an appearence after everything that had occurred to him, he did his best to brush off those particular thoughts. It wasn't time to allow negative ideas wander through his mind, knowing fully well that his date for the evening would brush such thoughts away. Now, all he had to do was search her once again.
As he manuvered through the crowed, he had noticed a handful of familar faces, even of someone in particular Dean had wished to see. Allowing his eyes to linger on the sight for a few moments, he pried them away and hoped that he would spot Ginny soon. One would think that with his height that he would have a better view. Sometimes that had been true, while other times not.
