Ernie headed straight to the nearest side table as soon as he arrived and snagged two flutes of champagne. He was never one to turn down free drinks when they were offered, and considering the size of the event and the number of people due to be crowding the atrium soon, he had the feeling he was going to need. Large crowds made him uncountably antsy, especially after spending so much time trekking around Càraidìon alone.
Still, he did his best not to show his discomfort and smiled wide as he handed one of the flutes to Lavender. "Bottoms up," he said with a half-mocking salute of his own glass.
He took a he hefty sip of his drink and smoothed an imaginary wrinkle out of his three-piece charcoal gray suit. Lavender had talked him into wearing a purple vest to match her dress and to be honest, he thought he wore the color well. Damn what Gavin may have said about his masculinity.
