Title: Witches, Sluts, Feminists: Conjuring the Sex Positive
Author: Kristen J. Sollee
Format: Epub
Rating: 1.5/5
Status: Finished
Reading Date: April 21, 2019 to April 23, 2019
Book Summary: Witch, Slut, Feminist: these contested identities are informing millennial women as they counter a tortuous history of misogyny with empowerment. This innovative primer highlights sexual liberation as it traces the lineage of “witch feminism.” Juxtaposing scholarly research on the demonization of women and female sexuality that has continued since the witch hunts of the early modern era with pop occulture analyses and interviews with activists, artists, scholars, and practitioners of witchcraft, this book enriches our contemporary conversations about reproductive rights, sexual pleasure, queer identity, pornography, sex work, and more.

Kristen J. Sollee is instructor at The New School and founding editrix of Slutist, an award-winning sex positive feminist website."
Book Review: Another book that will be tossed into the lot of books that had potential.

I honestly need to stop taking in recommendations from people because I have been so disappointed in my reads lately.

The historical aspect was great giving the readers a bit of a lesson of how witches have been both feared and revered throughout the centuries. Unfortunately all of this was lost with the entire book feeling like it would have been better up on the internet than in a book. It felt too much like I had been reading a blog filled with nothing but essays. Some of them worth the read and some of them feeling like they were either boring or lacking something.

Still an interesting read.
