One bank robbery and two dimensional rips later and Nightwing had finally landed on the rooftop of the ADV headquarters building in Houston. The rest of the Titans were monitoring strange energy patterns around the city to make sure that Control Freak didn't get a chance to escape. There was a lingering worry about Robin and the new kid being able to handle the situation until he got there, but as long as they were able to take out the remote then it wasn't a problem. Really, Nightwing wouldn't have been surprised to find the guy hogtied already.
And probably getting fanboy drool all over Robin's boots.
Or maybe lecturing him about how he wasn't the "Real Robin" (because Control Freak really had any authority over that) or something. It was hard to tell what would send him into fangasms and fanrages, respectively.
So just imagine Nightwing's actual surprise when, upon entering the building, instead of finding his successor and the new kid (really needed to find out his name) taking down Control Freak, he found himself in the all-too-familiar situation of being surrounded by static. "Oh great . . . "
He waited for sense to come back to the world and found himself staring at the two teen heroes and some kind of deadly crow square dance or something. A quick flick of his wrist, though, and two wingdings sent two swords clattering to the ground.
