Angel's place was just as Cordelia had expected it to be: quiet. Quiet and elegant but lonely. It looked like a model home, one that was shown to people who wanted to buy. All the furniture was dark mahogany, the color scheme made of browns and deep crimsons. It was beautiful, but seemingly empty. Cordelia planned on changing that. She had made it her project. The expression that he would fix her when he found out was one she'd seen many times before but she also knew he wouldn't actually do anything about it. He hadn't gotten rid of the fake flowers she had decorated their training room with years ago, had he? At least this place had potential. The basement that Angel and Cordelia had used to train in was helpless. This place was like a clean canvas and just in the last few days that she had been staying there, it had taken on a more friendly feel thanks to the various throws that littered the couches and the occasional cup of coffee that was left on the coffee table.

what. after spending some time acclimating to being alive, cordelia decides to go visit an old friend.

Death wasn't all that bad. Not compared to a lot of things, anyway. Cordelia hadn't even felt it when she'd died, thanks to that handy coma. People say you can't see or hear anything when you're in a coma, but when she'd died, Cordelia could remember the faint sound of a line going flat. Or maybe she only thought she had. The only thing she knew for sure was that there had been no pain. Only the sense of leaving a place that no longer existed. Before dying, she remembered the Powers letting her have one last hoorah in the form of helping Angel find his path. It was blurry, but she could remember it like one might remember a dream just after waking.
Dying wasn't the bad part.
It was the living part that sucked major ass.

What: Thoughts on everything that's recently happened.

OOC Note: This is just a short simple little post wrapping up Spike's thoughts and such after his run in with Justice. Mainly for me to finish that up and jump start my muse for Spike again since I lost it for awhile.
She was a monster, a much more dangerous and powerful monster then Spike anticipated. But it was ok, he’d get her eventually just not now. Things didn’t go as well as Spike planned them the other night. He wanted to show up and kill Angelus instead all he did was fight his little girlfriend Justice, it should’ve been simple but it wasn’t. Instead Spike was taken by surprise as Justice was much more powerful and something different. For some reason he thought she was a vampire, maybe it was something one of the other slayers said or maybe when he heard demon he just thought vampire since vampires are demons after all. She wasn’t a vampire though, she was a demon a demented and sick demon. Yet, still there was something about her, something that attracted Spike in the smallest of ways.
There was a part of her that reminded him of himself so long ago. The lust for the evil inside to come out and play, something so hard to control and once it’s out if feels so good. Spike could control it now though, he’d fought back long ago and proved what he was worth even before he got the soul, that was just the final step. Even with all that she was still able to tempt him. Part of him, just a tiny part of him wanted to give into her offer and turn evil again. Maybe it was her or the words she used but she knew how to play the game and if it wasn’t for his many years of experience he would’ve jumped at what she said. Luckily he was much older and wiser now and learned a lot.
One thing that he knew for sure was that he’d probably never get Buffy again, not that he really had her in the first place but they were going someplace. Just as he told Justice; it’d always be Buffy and Angel right down to the end. It doesn’t matter what happens and what each of them do or kill for that matter, in the end it will always be about each other. Spike realized that long ago but never wanted to admit it, he was just living in the shadow of Angel, a rebound. Sure, maybe one day Buffy would find someone else and maybe that person she’ll truly see for him and will like him but Spike will always be a lesser version of Angel to her. Not that he was that at all but he knew that’s how she felt, at least that’s what it seemed like to him. None the less he’d continue to go on fighting the good fight and standing by her side till the end of time.

Would things ever slow down? Would Buffy really ever get a chance to just stop? Stop, and actually breathe? For so long, it had been impossible to breathe. It didn't matter how many times Buffy inhaled, because it was never enough. Even when they had lived in Italy, she'd just been waiting for things to fall apart. The wind had carried whispers of tragedy and it had come in the form of a phonecall asking her to come to Cleveland. Since then, she'd just been drowning. Tonight had been the first night in months, years even, that she felt like she could actually breathe again. ( we're born lions but turn to lambs ) |
