Spike looked after Justice as she seemed to disappear into the darkness of the night. That was where she belonged: in the dark of the night. Her and him were nothing a like, despite what he thought earlier. Sure, they both were fools for love and lusting over someone they could never truly have but she wasn’t like Spike. She was evil and always would be. Spike shouldn’t have even been talking to her like she was a friend but he did. He connected to her for a small moment that he wouldn’t ever let happen again. She wasn’t the sort of person he needed in his life. Besides he’s suppose to kill her; her being the bad guy and Spike being the good guy. That was the way the world worked. Good versus evil and nothing in between. Spike knew that was a lie more then anyone. For Spike was changing to the good side while he was still “evil”. The world was one fucked up place.
Like Spike was really trying to cast for a replacement. If he was it sure as hell wouldn’t be her, it’d probably be one of the new little slayers running about. How could Justice even say or think that? She was nothing like Buffy and never would be.
Spike shook his head as he thought about the last words the demon said to him: “"It's because you're bad Spike. Bad to the bone. Even if you want to live in this filth paying for your booze and cigarettes. You're bad. She knows it. She fears. Just like he does with me. She just hopes you don't realize any time soon, otherwise she won't have herself a good little lapdog anymore." Those words hit Spike like a blow to the stomach. How could she even dare say something like that? She didn’t even know him, yet somehow he couldn’t shake those words out of his head. Maybe she was right and he was bad. No, Spike thought to himself as he shook his head once more. Justice didn’t know a damn thing about him or what he was.
Spike began to descend down the street in almost the same fashion that she did just a few minutes before. He would enter the darkness of the world where he truly did belong as he was a demon after all. Spike was different though, he had a soul so didn’t that make him good? Besides look at Angelus or Angel whatever he decides to go by, he was pure evil as Angelus and each time he changes yet Buffy loves him. Of course Spike would never admit to such a thing but Angelus was far more evil then Spike ever was. Spike actually chose to get a soul unlike Angel who was cursed with it. And whenever the soul is gone the Angelus is pure beast and doesn’t want the soul back. So how could Justice even say such a thing? Spike knew he should just let it go yet he continued to think about it and replay it in his head. There was a part of him that wanted to track her down and just prove how wrong she was.
Spike continued on his way and once reaching the cemetery he headed in the gates. He was done for tonight and done with this. Spike reached his crypt and kicked open the cement door with anger. Once inside Spike got out a bottle of vodka and started to drown his sorrows away.
