Hello! It's Jamie and I should have intro'd this guy eons ago. This is Vikram Patel aka Hades from the Lore Olympus webcomic. Just a few quick things about Vik:

- Vik was born in NJ, but his mother is a Dunhaven native; her family is linked to the Hopkins family, with the infamous Grandma being his Great Aunt. His mom moved him and his brothers to Dunhaven when he was in 2nd grade, so it's home to him.

- When his mother married his step-father, their families combined in a very Brady Bunch sort of way; he has two younger brothers and three step-sisters. They also have a shared half-sister, who is six. It makes for a very big and loud household, especially since they also have a whole bunch of dogs.

- His step-father's family owns the funeral home in town and he's helped out with cleaning and accepting deliveries and what have you since he was sixteen. Now he helps out when he can, mostly on weekends.

- He graduated high school from Aurelius in 2017 and did go to UofD, but he withdrew at the end of last semester because he just felt directionless and like he's wasting money. He plans on going back to school, but in the meantime he was hired by Angie Phillips to be her PA.

- He has been dating Mindy Smithwick, the daughter of Aurelius's headmaster, since they were sophomores. They're very different in that Mindy was very popular in school and kind of a Queen Bee, while Vik has always been the more laidback type that didn't really care about the social politics of school. But they got along well, at least until recently. Mindy has been on study abroad in Greece since the start of this school year, but he'd started to feel some distance growing between them before she left. They got into a fight about him withdrawing from school when she was home for Christmas and things have been better, but tense since then. It doesn't help that they're in different timezones and only communicate via text or video chat when they can, but... you know. Vik is holding out hope things will be better when she comes home for summer, but secretly isn't holding his breath.

- In general, he is a nice guy that is pretty quiet and unassuming. It isn't hard for someone to coax him out of his shell. He is very protective of his people, though, and is also very generous with his funds and time. It takes a lot to push him to lose his temper if you do something personally to him, but he's quick to defend his faves. He's a Slytherin with a heavy dose of Hufflepuff.

Okay, there you go! I'd love to talk friends and plot for him of all sorts.

Also, I wanted to apologize for being largely absent the last couple of weeks. I think everyone has been hit in one way or another with everything going on. Usually when my anxiety gets bad, I turn to RP for distraction, but I've been struggling with focusing there as well, so it's been a weird and complicated time. I do want to jump back into things as I feel myself needing the creative outlet, so I hope to be doing more soon. I know I talked to some of you about logs and then promptly didn't start any -- if you're still interested, let me know. Thank you for being patient with me. <3

Hello, friends!

As you all know, things are a bit turbulent in the real world right now. Because we want RP to be a relaxing place, much of that isn't bleeding into the world of Dunhaven, but we also know that it's very hard to escape and it can be draining and make it hard to focus.

Because of this, we've decided that we're going to waive activity for March and April, instead relying on check ins for activity, like we do during the holidays. Obviously we do hope to still see things going on IC and we'll have the calendar, prompt challenge, and events throughout those months, but we understand that RP is a hobby and other things come first. The last thing that we want is for Dunhaven to feel like a job; this is a creative escape, after all, and we don't want to lose the fun that comes with it. In the end, if we can ease one thing for you all, that's what we want to do.

So, in the meantime, please let us know if you have any questions, any plots that you'd like to see come up in game, or anything else. And know that we love and are thankful for each and every one of you. ❤️

Hello!!

So I am officially fully back from vacation and hiatus, having gotten back into the swing of things at work and cleaned my house. Someone left it a real disaster after their quick packing, no idea who. That said, I'd love to jump into some logs and such. I only have one going right now and that just seems weird. I feel like I had talked to a few people about stuff before leaving, but I can't remember exactly what so please feel free to remind me or come to me if there's something you'd like to do with someone new. I'll probably likewise reach out, but I wanted to just ~throw it out there~ to get the ball rolling.

I'd especially love to knock out some prompts, if we can manage that. It gives me a sense of accomplishment when I can turn squares pink. 😉

To be a star, you just need to be known a bit around town in one way or another; though they're not listed, you can expect that Mayor Reed and Mr. Wilkerson are paired with NPC dancers.

Just so everyone is aware, it's going to snow a bit today in Dunhaven, despite that the actual weather in northern VA is decidedly sunny. ;) It won't be as much as January's blizzard, but enough to cover the ground through tomorrow. This isn't weird or magical or anything like that -- it was forecast to snow.

Hi! Hello! Salut! C'est moi, Jach. I come bearing a new character today.

This is Dr Margot Fischer! Like her big brother, Gideon, Margot is also a doctor of pediatrics over at Dunhaven General. She is bright, bubbly, knows all about Pokemon, and wears Wheelie sneakers to work.

Born in Baltimore, Margot lived in Dunhaven for a few years as she attended Athena Academy. She graduated in 1999. After finishing at the academy, she went on to med school in Boston, then residency there as well. She actually opted to stay there until late 2015. At that point, she spent two years working overseas with Doctors Without Borders. When she returned home in 2018, she decided to move back to Dunhaven, and she's been here ever since!

She's very sweet and friendly! She's someone who will happily stop and chat with you at the farmer's market or when out picking up something to eat. She's caring and empathetic, and is a good shoulder to lean on in hard times. She's got her brothers and her future sister here, all of whom she loves deeply. I'd love for some friendships for her though! Past flings/flirtations (of the female variety, please) are also completely welcome!

Her canon counterpart is Arizona Robbins from Grey's Anatomy. One of the few characters to escape the show with a happy ending. She's been dreaming about Arizona for the past year, since she arrived in Dunhaven, and has mostly adjusted to it. Those closest to her would know about it, but she isn't super public about it.

Sup hi, it's me again. More interestingly, this is Sullivan Matthews aka Scorpius Malfoy from Harry Potter. I am going to make a wild attempt at keeping this short and sweet.

- Sullivan is originally from Boston! He comes from money on his paternal side and is related to the Nichols fam (and the Salazars by marriage kinda through Vanessa) on his maternal side. He came to Dunhaven when he was 11 and started going to school at Aurelius. He graduated in 2013 and was on the crew team. He was pretty shy overall in school, though anyone that got through his shyness was rewarded with a very loyal friend.

- Went to the university and finished his Masters degree in spring of 2019. He's now working at a museum in DC.

- Quick facts: He loves to read, but doesn't own many books as he relies on the library. He's a surprisingly good cook. Loves playing video games. Total introvert and is pretty socially awkward when he tries to people outside of his comfort zone. He accepts Sully as a nickname, but only from people he's particularly close to.

- Low key in love with Landon and has been for like... ever. But he's also his best friend and has been since they were 11 and Sullivan not here for ruining that with things like feelings, especially since he's pretty sure there's no way said feelings could be returned. So he pines away in silence.

- And there's more about him here! I mirrored a lot of the early life canon stuff for Scorpius, so there's some tragic stuff in there, as a head's up.

I would love to talk lines and friendships and all that good stuff! I'd especially like to discuss stuff with the other Wentworths, since he's been basically attached to Landon's hip for years now.

Hellooooo! I couldn't let Andrea be the only one to intro a newbie today (even though I can't use Frozen 2 for an excuse. There'a a bunch of snow and ice in Skellige?). But this is officially my YOUNGEST character, huzzah! He's 20, still in University, and he's THE BLACK KNIGHT at Baltimore's Medieval Times when he's not at school.

Meet Gavin Fischer, younger brother to Gideon the pediatrician. He went to Aurelius, so he's been here a while. He's also dreaming of Geralt of Rivia. Younger crowd, have at! Toss a coin to your Witcher.

Hey everyone!

Each year, we've done something new in the community to up the stakes for our resident dreamers in an ongoing way. The first year, we added in the ability to find things from their other lives (within reason since having a spaceship show up would be a little too conspicuous). Then we added in the ability for physical changes (non-magical), followed by the manifestation of actual powers and abilities.

This year, we're adding in the ability for (drumroll please) -- secondary past lives. We had someone ask if this was a possibility and, the more we thought on it, the more we thought it could be an interesting spin on what's been happening to our dreamers and could throw a wrench into the explanations everyone has been trying to piece together in game. We also thought it might be an interesting option for those with AUs who've exhausted their canon material and want something new to work through without picking up additional characters.

We realize this isn't something everyone will want to do for every character, especially when some of our canons provide so much material that we're still exploring those dreams and memories, but it could be a fun option for those who want to do it. It's not ever going to be a requirement that characters have multiple past lives and even if you, as a player, opt-in to this twist, you can pick and choose who it applies to.

Because of the nature of the new twist, there are a few rules:

1. Giving your character a second past life must be discussed with players who currently have a character with a significant tie to that character. Generally, this would be family, SOs, best friends, etc. Ultimately, it's your decision, but it's a good rule of thumb to make sure others are on board with your plans.

2. You should not use this as an opportunity to pick up multiple major characters. Charlie, for example, can't be dreaming about Leia and then pick up a second past life belonging to Harry Potter (since I couldn't think of a better example lol). This is a good opportunity to form connections that may have otherwise gone unfilled. For example, Jack (who's actually dreaming about Harry Potter 😉) could pick up a second past life of Bail Organa (#notsorry for the shameless plug).

2a. The exception, of course, would be if a major character has been a "wanted character" for a long time and you can reasonably assume it's not going to be filled and you have permission from the proposed canon's canonmates to do so. This also applies to fandoms that are lesser known since they are also less likely to be filled.

3. This should be used sparingly. We won't set any limitations on when and how you can do this because we've always wanted this game to be what you guys want to make of it. However, make sure you're giving your primary canon the attention it deserves and not leaving your character's canonmates behind. Characters can have dreams of both lives at the same time (so new characters could technically be picked up with dual canons), but just make sure you're not utilizing this new twist at the expense of already existing connections.

I think that's all, though this is a big twist, so we fully anticipate questions and edits and will be adjusting/adding to the rules listed above as those come in. Once this all seems as fleshed out as it's going to get, we'll add the update to the rules and FAQ page!
