Checking in. How are you? Sleeping better?

I just got back in from Annie's bridal shower since I stayed to help clean up and to help Remi get all of her things back to the bakery. It was fun! Calla really knows how to put together parties--I think she could have a side business in event planning if she wanted to. I still have to figure out what I'm wearing to the wedding even though I honestly wish I didn't have to go. It's in D.C. and there's too much that I need to work on here to make a fun weekend of it.

You're still coming with me, though, right? I need you and Remi there to keep me sane.

Senior year, officially, in 24 days. Which means I have approximately 20 days left to figure out how to end the summer with a bang. Suggestions? Thoughts? Unnecessary criticism that I won't bother to listen to from people who don't know how to have fun? May or may not include OF AGE ONLY drinking (because I will be 21 before then).

I am not a sappy person, so I'm going to keep this pretty short and sweet. Happy nineteenth birthday to this loveable Russian:

This weekend is my first since about May that I haven't had a wedding scheduled! And while I like the income and weddings are always fun to shoot, it's going to be nice to just be able to relax. The last couple have been out of town, so they're extra exhausting. I keep reminding myself that school will be starting soon, so things will slow down on the photography front, but then I remember that it just means it will be picking up on the homework front... and it's a cycle.

Ah well, I'll try to keep the complaining to a minimum.

Unrelated, but I like this little social media thing we've got going on here! It makes me feel like Dunhaven is getting with the times. Not that all cities have their own personal social media platform. Unless they do? Either way, it's kind of neat. Are we supposed to introduce ourselves? Yes, no? Maybe? Just in case: hi, I'm Rowena Hyland!

I try to go back to Brooklyn every summer, since I never get enough time to wander around during the holidays. I never want to wander around much then, between the weather and being stuffed from my mother's cooking. There's nothing really like going back to a place you really love to make you feel centered again. I usually spend a few days trying to find art that I hadn't seen before, or wasn't there last time I visited. The city's always changing. It's one of the things I love about it.
