Strength in Odd Numbers
Title: Strength in Odd Numbers
Author: _Ky_
Characters: Draco Malfoy, Luna Lovegood
Rating: G
Word count: 100

Thank you to [info]romaine24 for the read over and to [info]nicbemused for getting me to originally writing "LoCo" stories. I believe they are quickly becoming comfort food for my muse.

Disclaimer: I don’t own these characters. All characters you recognize are property of JK Rowling, Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Inc., Warner Bros., et cetera et cetera.

Summary: Some days Draco looks around himself and sees a school in chaos, and he seeks something that will bring him comfort and give him strength.

Her calm peculiarity heartened him in a way that the students’ brash rebellion couldn’t. He didn’t know why; she’d probably blame the pheromones of storklepinks.

He watched her twirl her ponytail, reading news from a paper he’d once called rubbish. Nowadays – he knew – only her father really printed the truth. He’d heard the Carrows grumbling about the trouble Xenophilius was towards the Lord’s cause.

“Luna,” he wanted to whisper, “be careful.” But he didn’t dare; Malfoys weren’t high on the list of favorites, either.

So, Draco kept his silence. He watched through cautious eyes, gaining strength through her quiet oddity.

I enjoyed this very much. It's nice to think that Draco took in Luna's strength to keep himself going through the school year.

I love writing these two characters together. Luna is such a strong character, who really knows her own path; I think Draco really could have benefitted from her strength.

I think the same about Luna, it´s a very strong character, and I think too that Draco could learn so much of her, and find himself in a world where everybody else says who he is. I wish you keep writting, because if you love to write about this two, I love to read about them!

I'm glad you like this! Draco/Luna are always a fun favorite for me to write because they are unexpected, but could teach each other so much. I wrote another story "In the Eye of the Beholder" that was my firt "Loco" story and I completely fell in love with the pair after that.
