James Bolton interview.

Excerpt:

GS: There is a highly charged eroticism that transfers to the screen courtesy of the performances by Stephan Bender as Nathan and Maximillian Roeg as Roy. Every time Roy says “touch me” to Nathan you can feel the electricity. Can you please say something about working with Stephen and Maximillian?

JB: These young men are such professionals! They took their roles very seriously. They really delved into the characters including that they spent time with local kids in Louisiana doing research and talking extensively with me about the character and I believe, they even spoke a bit to Jim (Grimsley) about the characters. They were not at all fearful about the intimate scenes in the film. Max is the son of filmmaker Nicholas Roeg and grew up, I suspect, with David Bowie at the dinner table, among others so he was just very open minded and professional. His mother is Theresa Russell. And Stephan had done “Superman Returns” and that was his first experience and he didn’t just look at it as a role that could get him a lot of attention, but as “how do I make this the character the writer/director envisions?” Very professional, and I think they will both go on to do many more films.

Jim Grimsley interview

James Bolton video interview at Berlinale

Lovely movie review by Zeckko at Blogspot (spoilers, but only if you haven't read the book)

I've been watching Wireimage and Getty for possible shots of Max, Stephan, James and Jim at Berlinale...no joy yet, I'm afraid.

Will keep ya posted.

Have a good weekend!
