Draco’s Mother Gets A Job by HPFangirl71
“Mother, I do think you should stop all this pointless job hunting! Now that father’s gone, you should just let Harry and I take care of you!” Draco spoke softly to his mother.
Narcissa gave him a weary look; she’d spent the day job hunting and was exhausted completely.
“You and Harry…?” she squeaked.
“Yes mother, Harry my fiancé… remember?” he spoke to her firmly yet with gentleness.
“You’re still on about this engagement to that boy, are you?”
“Yes mother. Harry and I are still getting married.” This time he spoke in an exasperated tone. The woman could be downright stubborn when she wished to be.
“Well darling, when I get a job you won’t have to marry that awful Potter boy.” she said with a beaming smile aimed directly at her son.
“Mother… Even if you get three jobs, I am still marrying Harry. I’ve told you I love him and being his husband is the only job I want.”
Narcissa looked reluctantly at Draco, finally beginning to realize she was fighting a losing battle. She loved her son and knew she wouldn’t be able to bear it if she lost him due to her prejudicial ignorance. Lucius had made those same wrong choices and paid a dear price. She knew it was now up to her to make amends. After a moment, she finally spoke up.
“Well then, I guess I can stop all this job hunting nonsense and just take the one job I’m perfectly suited for.”
Draco looked at her suspiciously.
“Exactly what job would that be?” he questioned her warily.
“Why wedding planner for my dear son of course!” she said with a sly smirk upon her face.
Draco smiled to himself, for at last they had found the perfect job for his mother.
