WHO Bailey & Harley

Jules had given her some excellent advice and Nikolai had delivered in spades. Bailey slipped into a deep sleep easily, handcuffed to the headboard with his arms around her. It wasn't the most comfortable position to be in but Nikolai made it bearable and she knew that it would be helpful in the long run. She needed to know who was taking her out for a drive so often and the sooner she knew, the better. The influence was already there, seeping into her life. She got so jealous over the stupidest things lately, like a smile that lingered a little too long on Nikolai while they were out to dinner or if she felt like he wasn't giving her enough attention. Her thoughts swirled around the man beside her as she fell into a dream. It was black everywhere and yet she was completely visible. Perhaps empty was a better way to describe the place she was in. There was a floor beneath her bare feet, but she couldn't see it. If there were walls, they weren't anywhere near her. She was dressed in one of Nikolai's button down shirts and she took a brief moment to close her eyes and take a deep whiff of his scent. When she looked up, a woman was in front of her, dressed in a black and red body suit, blonde hair framing her face. She had more color than Bailey did and her hair was a shade yellower, more of a true blonde as opposed to the white blonde of Bailey's. "You're her," Bailey said, and Harley nodded. "You're clever, but I've been watching. Such a naughty thing, getting handcuffed to the bed." Harley began to move around Bailey in a slow, wide arch, observing her from nearly every angle. "You're young." Bailey didn't move or flinch as Harley moved and observed her. "I'm younger than you, I think." She paused and worried her lower lip before asking, "Who are you?" Harley tutted in reply. "Do you really think I'm going to give away all my secrets?" she asked, circling around Bailey. "Not when I can control you any time I want." She whispered the last few words against Bailey's ear, causing her to shiver. Harley grinned. "That's right. You don't even know what I'm doing. I could've set those fires in the apartments," she taunted. She hadn't of course. She just wanted Bailey afraid, constantly worrying if the bad things happening around Las Vegas were her. "You have no idea what I'm capable of." Harley said the last part sweetly, coming to stand in front of Bailey. "Don't hurt him." Bailey's voice was small, childish almost, and after everything Harley told her, Bailey wanted to make sure that Nikolai would be safe from this woman's grasp. Harley didn't bother containing her glee as she clapped her hands together and stood on her tiptoes. "Oh you stupid, pathetic girl. I won't hurt him, not if you continue letting me work," Harley countered, and she actually sounded sincere. "At night," Bailey bargained after a moment, almost hesitantly. "I'll cut back my days at work and give you a night a week." "Two, plus a third every other week." Bailey bit her lower lip. "You wont hurt him?" "No, I'll leave him be." "Okay." She paused after agreeing, because she had no idea what she was getting herself into. "What's your name?" She tried again. Harley was grinning again, that big goofy Joker smile that anyone familiar with her would recognize. "Oh, still trying that? I'll give you a hint, girl. I've got a thing for bats and plants and people who make the world go BOOM." She started to fade away again, until her grin was the only thing that remained. Bailey woke, panting heavily. She didn't like the woman in her head, but as she glanced at Nikolai, she started to calm down. He was safe. That would be enough. For now. |
