Who: Reveals. Missing Waldo.
What Reveals!
Rating: Umm...PG-13ish.
She woke, slowly, resting against her headboard with a look of shocked horror on her features. Her eyes opened wearily and she looked down at her wrist, happy to find that everything was as it should be, without anything tying her together. The dress was gone, and she remained in a pair of comfortable, fuzzy pajamas.
Her secret. Her one big secret from her childhood had been taken advantage of in a way that she wasn't happy about, not at all. She'd always been worried that she'd not be any different from anyone else. Being from where she was, with so many people looking the same, and having the stereotype that being in uniform and being together was something that was met with opened arms. A girl who wanted to cut her hair short, even for participating in a sport of some kind, was frowned upon because it meant that that girl was going to look different from the other girls present. All girls had to wear the same uniform, the same skirts, the same shoes. She'd always been afraid that she'd be identical as everyone else, a shadow lost in the crowd, disappearing into everyone else and never finding her way to the surface.
She sat up in bed, putting a hand to her head wearily. It wasn't the physical appearance that was the same, though. Here? Her physical appearance, everything outwardly about her, stood out. It was her memories that made her unique. Mingmei sighed, clinging to those precious memories that the Dollmaker had tried to take from her. No, never again. She wasn't going to let anyone else try to change her. Her memories might be similar to other people's here, but her experiences were entirely different, and that's why she wasn't going to be forgotten.
