Who: The little red nun
What: reveal!
Warning: none
The little red nun with her hair splayed across her cheeks and lips trembling wet with sweetness, leaned in closer for a candy-coated kiss just as her desires started to go dark. “No.” She whispered, reaching for the girl in sugar and felt the fearful want fade away. Anticipation and virginal longing turned to a black, dark kind of shame that balled up inside of her and tore her back to the empty home she swore wasn’t hers anymore.
His.
Wasn’t his anymore.
He felt the change shoot over him suddenly like waking up from a fevered dream. He knew it was the hotel, it was always the hotel warping him into different shapes, but he never would have anticipated it had such a mean sense of humor. His first instinct was to yell, his young voice screeching down the empty halls before he turned and kicked over the nearest fragile thing. A lamp. It crashed, the light struggling to stay on before rolling off and he stalked out of his bedroom towards the cave.
A normal teenage boy would have taken the time to get drunk and find a real girl that wasn’t made of taffy and dripping sweetness, but Damian wasn’t a normal kind of boy was he? He didn’t grow up like everyone else did. Shoulder to shoulder with girls his age, learning what it meant to be more than just kids who rough housed a little too eagerly. A year of being an adult didn’t give him a decade of being like everyone else. Everyone else got the chance to grow up, but the little bird was still a squawking fledgling who panicked when a cat got too close.
Somewhere between trying to find a good hole in the cave to die in, his phone beeped with a message from Grayson. Bright and sure that he could see the sun over the horizon. Little D and kid and checking in. Damian wanted to be glad that his brother was doing better, deep down under all the recent nun related trauma he was glad, but right now he couldn’t deal with that sunny, megawatt Grayson smile. Damian crawled into a rocky ledge above everything else. He pulled his knees up to his nose and sighed.
