Who: Kitame Zmaj and Song Mingmei
Where: Starting first at the Hard Rock Hotel, near the strip
When: Friday, late, probably about ten or eleven (yeah, that's late for Mingmei, shush!)
What/Summary: Mingmei had her first issue with a customer since becoming manager and she took it really seriously
Ratings/Warnings: Getting drunk?
She's never felt so sad. Or so bad, really. She couldn't really explain what she was feeling in words other than in Mandarin. The day had been awful. It had been just before the evening classes, when everyone was busiest. The coffee shop had been full of students, probably easily fifty or more already who had bought coffee and probably ten or so students in line. It was ridiculously busy. And that wasn't even counting the drive through.
She'd been supervising her newest employee, when something had happened that hadn't caught her attention right away. A customer was beginning to get irate with the barista because they couldn't make his specialty drink exactly right (despite the fact that he'd gotten what he'd ordered). He'd started yelling at her barista, in front of everyone. She'd stepped in, naturally, as the manager. He'd yelled at her, then, calling her some pretty mean words and insulting her English (which, was, admittedly, not great, but much better than it had been a year ago!). She'd kept cool in front of her customers, even got support from her staff, but for a Chinese girl who had been working hard to fit in, the insults he'd slung at her had been too much. She'd gone on a break and then continued to cry.
And later, when a coworker had noticed her sadness, she'd been given the suggestion to go some place to cool down, and had randomly chosen the Hard Rock Hotel. So there she sat, waiting for her friend Kitane to show up. She really did like the girl, liked her a lot. They were pretty good friends. She sat with her drink (something they'd called a shirley Temple, though she didn't understand that, personally), and comfortably waited for her friend.
