Who: Jack and Bo What: Jack meets Bo outside the door in an establishing doc that allows Jeannie and Ace to take a lap around the track carrying the flag for SHORTEST DOC EVER GO US. Where: Outside the DC door. When: After Jason met with Selina, prior to the plot starting. Warnings/Rating: None.
Dick stood at his doorway for way too long. He was clean for the first time in days, but it didn’t make him feel entirely clean. He knew he’d have to check and see if Bo was okay - Bo had people who cared about him. This wasn’t fair to them. But it also wasn’t like Bo not to be talkative. Dick was worried. But he stepped through anyway.
Bo for his part was a couple of things - he felt all kinds of wrong, but he wasn’t going to lie about being glad he was alive. He felt like he could talk, like he could walk and move. Nothing different except his brain was a bit mangled. Dick had some issues, Dick had done what he could to keep himself together and Bo had gone quiet for a number of reasons.
When he found himself back in Vegas he looked down at himself and then over at Jack who he noticed right away. “Put the straight jacket away, I’m not going to go all 5150.” But he smiled. Sort of. He was mostly glad to see a familiar face. “At least I don’t think so. Not yet. I feel okay. This is fucked up.”
Jack had been outside the door waiting for Bo's arrival for about an hour already. Jason had gotten in his visiting hours with Selina, and after that, there had been nothing to do but wait.
When Bo finally stumbled through the door, Jack was across the hall, leaning against the wall, looking at the messages on his phone. A few months ago, he would have been reading. Now, though, when a mission could still come through at any time, he found himself checking for messages more than he liked. He slid it into his pocket as soon as Bo came through, stepping toward him, fully ready to keep him upright if necessary. Well, he was talking, and he sounded like himself. Definitely a good sign. Jack had no idea what to expect. The Lazarus Pit hadn't been easy on him, but it had been Jason's second time going in. There was no knowing what it would do to somebody else - would it be worse? Not as bad?
"You sound better than I was expecting," Jack admitted. "And yeah. It couldn't really be more fucked up." He hesitated. "Max set aside a place for you to lay low for a while. At least until we can figure out how badly you were hit by the Pit. Even if it's just a couple of days, I'd suggest taking some time to rest, even if you think you feel alright."
Bo shrugged and tried his best to look better than he felt - which was surprisingly better than he thought he would. “Last I checked I tell you two what to do and where to go,” he said attempting to sound like himself as well. “I think the guy on the other side has it worse, his brain is like a scrambled egg omelet. Those batkids seriously need to think about some family therapy.” He started to walk a bit and tried not to think about how nice a nap would be. Sleeping here was not an option - worst hotel ever. “Take me to the panic room and tell me what I missed.”
