Sam felt that this whole thing was very strange, many days. He loved Miss Elinor and thought she was a very intelligent young woman. She knew who he was and everyone, and she seemed to be very excited to know him. So when he asked her to go to his own world, she agreed instantly, equally as curious to see his world for herself. Once through the Door, Samwise frowned a little bit. Everything seemed different from what he remembered, in all honesty. Things were very peaceful. Aragorn was a king, and Mr. Frodo was happy again. Mr. Bilbo was off on his own adventure again too, from what Sam knew.
But now? Everything was like before, and that confused Sam like no other. He'd tried talking to Mr. Frodo earlier about the Ring, and Gollum, and how things were different, and Mr. Frodo had just patted him on the head with a few nice words. He'd sounded very concerned, but Sam didn't say much in response. He was quite confused, but Sam knew better than to bring up more at the moment. So he went for a walk. Grabbing a familiar stick to use as a walking cane, Sam ventured past the gardens and towards the edge of the Shire, needing to think.
Everything was so very confusing. Rosie didn't remember him very well. Gandalf wasn't around, either. Gandalf always visited the Shire, especially because of Mr. Bilbo and Mr. Frodo loved Gandalf. As unusual as that was, Sam got lost in thought as he was walking the edges of The Shire, trying to puzzle it out for himself why people seemed so different.
