What: Reveal-ish
When: In the hours following plot.
Warnings/Rating: Talk of death.
She couldn’t quite remember getting back to her apartment, but neither could she remember leaving in the first place. Nothing past the hotel, and everything that followed... right up until she died.
Well, fuck.
The voice was back in her head, curious and maybe a little worried. She hadn’t been around for the entire night, though that wasn’t always unusual. It was only everything else that was strange. Dying on one side of the door was nearly impossible, as far as either of them knew, but the other side was a different story, and neither one of them had wanted to contemplate that. It hadn’t seemed like a big deal, had been able to be pushed away in favor of greater worries like finding a job and a place to stay. But if the hotel was going to fuck with them and put them in situations where death was not only a possibility for Laura, but a very true reality, then they had a problem. Or at least they would have, if it seemed like death actually stuck.
Thank god - or whatever was out there - for not so small favors.
She needed to brush her teeth. To shower. Maybe to throw up. There was nothing in her mouth, but she could still feel and taste the noxious blood that had nearly painted her entire body only a short while ago. It wasn’t there any longer, though, and her entire body was sore enough that all she wanted to do was sleep. Or maybe stay in her bed and not move until her body stopped throbbing. Being stabbed by a sword (even one whose wounds eventually went away) and then dying from those wounds wasn’t how she’d planned to spend the night. And it left a lot more pain in its wake than it had any right to.
Flat on her back, eyes closed and sighing, Laura laid spread starfish on top of the covers for a good while before she lifted one arm to fumble for her phone. Not finding it right away, her hand fell on her journal. Good enough.
Even her toes hurt. That was just unfair.
