Steve Strange, New Romantics Poster Child

Lately I've been reminded of my love for certain 80s / New Wave / goth subculture music and styles. And somehow, I always come back to the same iconic figures. Steve Strange is one of them. He's probably best known for his band Visage and their greatest hit "Fade to Grey".
His outfit was more about fashion than gender statements, but the clubs and events he ran were always welcoming towards genderqueers.

All images have been taken from http://www.geocities.com/theblitzkids/ -- although a tad disorganized, it is the best source (that I know of) for images and information concerning 80s subcultures. If you want to read about Steve Strange and the New Romantics movement, the Wikipedia articles here and here present a nice overview.
