What with the Great IJ Outtage of 2017 and all, I'm going through to check and make sure nobody's writing got lost, because an awful lot of great writing got done in this comm. Please let me know if you need to be re-added as a member, if you can't see anything, if you're locked out of posts...I don't know, basically if there's anything that you think I, in a modly capacity, can help you out with as regards preserving your writing, let me know and I'll do what I can.
I miss you guys! This was the best game I ever ran and I think about restarting it up all the time. A million spinny hearts for all of you who made this place the best RP experience I've had in maybe ever. |

Here I am, apologizing for the 9 millionth time for being quiet. Sorry >_< I STILL LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH and this game is so great! I've just had a really bad couple of weeks. Our graduation ceremony is this weekend and I'll be dealing with some health stuff over the next couple weeks and (I'm gonna get some minor surgery done on the 10th if you can maybe send me some good vibes) but once I'm recovered from all of that, summer will be here and I'll be ready to give y'all my full attention.

Hey y'all,
I just wanted to pop in and say that I defend my thesis on Tuesday (!!! asldfkjalsdjfasdf) and I am kind of all over the place, and probably won't be around much this weekend because I will be alternately be 1) panicking and trying to write answers to every conceivable question in advance or 2) j/k there is no two, that is literally all I'll be doing.
SO. After all of that mess is over I will be VERY HAPPY to plot with everyone and throw Loki and Clint into a few scenes. As always, thank you for your patience, etc, I promise I will be reliable soon.

Hey, guys!
Joint apology from Alexa & Lilly on this one: we've both dropped the ball a little bit for various and sundry real life reasons, but! We really want to get everyone back into the swing of things, and we are working on some modly plans in order to do that right now. Watch this space for an announcement about proceedings going forward, because we promise, we got something coming! (We realized one of the sticking points here is that it's narratively a little hard to figure out how a revolution is actually happening with a group this large, so we're going to pull a little bit of a Jesus-take-the-wheel on that to make it easier for everyone.)
But in the meantime, we figure first things first: a little light housekeeping. Totally understandable that in the quiet of the last couple weeks, we could lose some people, but we wanted to make a quick post to do a headcount and just find out real quick who's still:
A) Here! And interested in sticking around!
B) Up for us to throw something at you to help move the revolution things around.
We're going to do a round of removals and updating the taken list at the end of the weekend, at which point, we'll give you guys each one nugget of information that you can use IC, so just comment here by SUNDAY, MARCH 13TH if you're up for it and ready for the original activity requirements to finally start kicking back into place.
In the meantime, please, please feel free to talk amongst yourself. You all have each other's contact info - use it! |

I know we've all been busy lately, but I also want to apologize -- the second draft of my thesis is due next week and I've been panicking a whole bunch. I'm going to be at a conference until next Saturday, but please let me know what I can do when I get back, yeah?

Hey guys, I'm Anna, CDJ at ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) hansolo. I originally intro'ed here by accident. And I'm bringing you Luke Cage, bartender at a shitty watering hole and Victor of the 58th Hunger Games from District 2. (I know, it's weird, but bear with me.)
Luke came from a family of poor stonemasons, which is pretty much the bottom of the D2 totem pole. When he was a kid, his parents enlisted as peacekeepers for a shot at social mobility, and he hasn't seen them in almost 30 years (the duration of their enlistment). He was raised by his grandparents, who really couldn't afford to take care of three children, so he started working at the quarry and training as a peacekeeper. But when his grandfather died, he decided that the only way to really take care of his family was to win the Hunger Games.
In the games, he was known for being quiet, powerful, effective and ruthless in the pursuit of survival. But being that Luke was also a decent and caring human being, what he had to do in the games really messed him up. He swore off of using his strength to hurt people. Which has been hard, since that's really not what the capitol wants for him. After he won, he was subjected to a number of different steroids and medical procedures in an attempt to exaggerate the physique that he was known for in the games. For a while, the capital sort of rented him out as an armed guard (etc) for wealthy Capitol residents, and when he refused, his wife was killed in an "accident."
In recent years, he's kind of dropped off the public radar because he's not new and shiny anymore, and he doesn't really do anything interesting. He's quiet and boring and he runs a shitty bar in a lousy neighborhood that his name isn't attached to, and people leave him alone most of the year. He's usually keyed into questionable Capitol gossip because his bar puts him just on the fringe of all the wrong networks. But as far as he's concerned, he's not the revolutionary type.

Hello friends, I'm R. My CDJ is over at grantaire and I'm bringing in Bruce Banner. I know some of you from around places & stuff. I'm a full-time student and the only days I'll be really unavailable are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Otherwise I should be able to respond to inquiries pretty quickly.
So, on to Banner - Bruce lives in the Capitol, he's a Gamemaker and pretty unhappy about it. Growing up with an engineer father who envied greatness and thought his family a burden, Bruce has always felt like he's had something to prove. He became a medical doctor of some note with an interest in genetics. But... the sheen of his accomplishment eventually wore off. He became more and more disillusioned with his job and frustrated with the "glass ceiling" when it came to the amount of recognition he could achieve and resources at his disposal in the Districts. But his work was noticed, and eventually he was seduced into moving to the Capitol with an offer in a genetics lab. But the renown he was anticipating didn't come the way he expected it to - and instead of getting to advance his projects, he's stuck creating monsters: developing dangerous plants and animals for use during the games.

Hi! I'm bringing in Trish Walker and this is all very exciting!
Quick recap on Trish: she was born and lived in District 12, and had the standard sort of "poverty riddled but hanging in there" background that's a pretty regular life in 12. Up until she was old enough to start entering the Reaping, because that's when her mother turned into the Hunger Games 'verse version of the terrifying stage parent she is in Jessica Jones: she saw Natasha's win when Natasha was so tiny and cute, and got the notion in her head that she could force her daughter to volunteer and become the same kind of superstar (more on that here in her ap!) After a couple years, Trish made a run for it and was found by some scouts for ~secret 13, where she now runs a (propaganda, though she doesn't really know that's what it is, yet) radio show for them.
She ALSO, however, doubles as an underground radio host, broadcasting out to the people of Panem to help incite revolution - if you know the password and the right frequency (maybe this was a little inspired by Lee Jordan and Potterwatch? You don't know my life.) Spying, tuning in to gain more information about what's happening in the Districts, all that good stuff that pushes revolutions along. If you've seen the show, you know that Trish is kiiiind of a cinnamon bun who super wants to save the world and will basically fight anyone anytime anyplace anywhere, but, you know, cheerfully. And often ineffectually, but we won't get into that.
So! I know this makes it a little hard to do actual scenes with her for at least a little bit, but I figure finding radio frequency buddies who she can talk to is a good way to start! Also a fun way for everybody to use their comic book code names over two-way communication. And then maybe if it starts getting all antsy we can work out a handwavy way for her to infiltrated the Capitol or something, who knows, the world is our oyster. Thank you! |

Hey all!
The group thread is ready to go, so have at it! I am, of course, down for any threads you want to throw at me and Clint and/or Loki, but both of them will be unavailable for threading until after Clint comes out of the arena. Feel free to have people socialize and stuff while Clint's doing his thing, though!
I haven't graded one single thing yet today, so I'm gonna close my computer and disable internet one my phone for a couple hours while I wade into these papers, but I'll be back in a little while!
ETA: Okay so grading these portfolios is taking forever and a day and I had to deal with a bunch of beauucratic nonsense, but I SWEAR I WILL TAG MY SHIT TOMORROW YOU GUYS. |

I just got buried in a pile of end-of-semester portfolios and other work to grade, though, so the start might not be up until the end of the weekend.
However! If your characters would like to text or have phone conversations with Clint regarding this, go for it, give me alllll the things, as I could totally use a distraction from all this awful grading.

I am open to all the plotting, or backstory, or whatnot, my greedy heart pines for it. I'm at my parents' house for a couple more days, and I will TRY TRY TRY to tag things but it is maybe unlikely. However! THE DRAFT OF MY THESIS IS IN, GUYS, and I don't have to worry about it for like, at least a week, so when I get back home on Sunday night I am going to do ALL OF THE TAGS (Thor and Loki!
