I always wanted to be just like my father when I was young. So much that my biggest dream was to play for Puddlemere like he did. He was more than just my da. I know a lot of people say that and it probably sounds cliche, but it's true. He was my best friend. He was the one I turned to when I didn't know if it would help or hurt my career to be out, and he was the first person who told me to just be myself, no matter what, and that I could make a difference that way. He got to see me fulfill one of my dreams, but there's so much else he won't be here for. He won't see his youngest daughter sit her NEWTs or see either of his daughters grow up and settle into whatever futures they want for themselves. He never got to see me get married, and I remember being so sure that we'd get to do that again when this was all over and he could be there. I should have kept q The Death Eaters took that from us. Almost a week ago now. He would have been really glad to know it was all over now.

Anyway. In the chaos of everything that's happened in the last week, I realised I never talked about this and that I should have said something before. My mother and I are still making arrangements for a service, but as soon as we know, I'll share that, for anyone who wants to know.

I went to see Layla and to talk to her, and she said Keats was the one who killed Felicity Swann. I don’t know how we can verify that, but she did tell me what he did, so... I don’t know. She didn’t know if he was ordered or if he did it on his own. He talked about it, just not that part, at least not where she could see. Anyway, I thought I should tell all of you. I know it’s not a lot, but maybe it’ll answer something. He joined up after his brother was arrested, so he could’ve been part of anything after that.
PERCY:
She asked about you.

Hey, Roger, got something to talk to you about.
PERCY, KATIE, ANGELINA, ALICIA, FRED, GEORGE, LEE:
I won't get into a big speech, don't worry. I just wanted to say thank you. For listening, and giving us a shot. And for putting up with me. I know I've been a wreck lately.

I'd talked to Katie about this before, and now I've no idea when we're going to get the time for it, but as soon as we do, I want all of you to come to ours for dinner. Just us. I think it'd be good.

So, maybe it's worth talking about what we want to do if they're not receptive to this idea with Layla, because I can't seem to explain it in a way that actually gets anywhere, and it's starting to make me feel like the odd man out around there, like they all wasted their time with me. Or like everyone's going to think I'm just some dumb Quidditch player, or ... both, I don't know. I just think maybe we need a contingency plan, even if we don't tell her about it yet.

I’ve been getting a wild amount of questions on wiztagram these days (and hooter), like a lot of “when are you coming back to Rio?” (Probably for a real honeymoon?) or “why aren’t you single?” (or “I liked you more when you were single.”) or “are you changing your name?” and then a lot of really invasive, personal stuff that I have no intention of ever answering. Really grateful that no one’s jumping into “when are you having kids?” already. And people wonder why we keep our private lives to ourselves.

The other thing people have been asking is if it feels different, and it doesn’t, really. Although it is really fun to throw around “husband” every chance I get. Like now. ☺️

In other news, no Quidditch is insanely boring and I still have no idea what to do with my life now. I never had a back-up plan. I barely took any NEWTs. (Not recommended. I highly suggest having a back-up plan.)

The Winter Olympics started, and though there are a lot of issues with the economic impact and spending a lot of money on things that don’t get used much again, I think it’s really interesting what they’re able to do. To come together for sporting events and to cheer on your country beyond just one sport, or even just cheer for someone really good from another country. It’s nice to see people respect talent and hard work, no matter who it is, and to see people set aside differences for a few weeks. Suppose it’s a temporary fix to problems like Quidditch was for us, where everything seems fine for a time and you can forget about everything else. I didn’t always pay a lot of attention to Muggle sports, but I started looking into it in last few years. I like watching the skiers. Oh, and hockey. Hockey reminds me of Quidditch sometimes.

Maybe I’ll learn something else with all this free time I have. Something tells me no one plans on bringing our sport back any time soon, especially with all the lying about what really happened. So much for Magical culture, right?

So who wants to help the two of us get a couple people out of here before they're tracked down? ASAP. I'd rather not take them the way we flew,
Roger, since I think they'd flip their lids and we'd be breaking all sorts of secrecy laws, but I suppose it's a last resort. (Oh, yeah, we flew the channel earlier this month. I forgot to mention that.) Also, I have some friends who The Ord It's all right if it's a no, but I know you wanted to help before, and we're rather desperate.

I didn't want to say this last night and ruin a good time... honestly, I haven't wanted to say anything at all. I don't really know where to start, but I shouldn't put it off any longer. Dad's in trouble with the Ministry over my sister not going back to Hogwarts, and I think we'll probably not see him again because the Ministry's run by who are fond of human rights violations. I keep thinking I should make a statement about it, but I know he wanted would want me to keep my distance so the rest of us aren't implicated in anything.

This is a long way of saying thanks to those of you who went for ice cream last night, even if my coach was not thrilled to hear about my eating habits. It was worth it.

Between the last minute shopping and surprise deliveries to having my sister home from Hogwarts and introducing her to Ghost, I feel like I only just now had some time to sit down for a minute. Does anyone know anything about wedding planning, because I'm not sure either of us have time for that.

There are a lot of people who are having a difficult time this year, for a variety of reasons, so I'd like to give back and try to make this holiday season a little brighter. I have some ideas already, but if you know a person or a family who could use the extra help this year, please let me know privately so I can surprise them personally before Christmas.

It often seems like there isn't much I can do to help anyone, which I'm sure is something that other people can relate to, too. But I guess if this helps bring a smile to just one kid's face, that's something.

On another note, the annual Quidditch calendar is out. All proceeds go to charity, so please buy one. Or five! Or more, I won't judge.

FERGUS:
Now that you're no longer arrested 😑 have you heard anything from your cousin lately? The hoots from the Quibbler weren't totally off-base this time, so it might be worth checking in. My sister's miserable.

MAYBE I wouldn't get political if we weren't watching our heritage and culture (that INCLUDES Muggleborns!) and economy be systematically broken apart by people who are using fear, intimidation and murder to control us so it's easier for them to rebuild our world the way they want it (which is not going to look anything like the world we've known, and probably won't even include us at all)

JUST A THOUGHT

QUIDDITCH:
My team is also requiring all of us to get the ID, so that's fun.

I have a favour to ask. Your brother got an invitation to that Purist gala for St. Mungo’s and he wants to go, “to spy.” I won’t be going with him, obviously. Is there something he can use to, you know, tell me he’s not dead or tell me if he’s in trouble that is more subtle that hexting me all night?

This has been a really trying week, and I'm not really sure what to say except that I don't think this is how it's supposed to be and I hope everyone's okay. As okay as we can be. Words really aren't my forte here.

I had a few completely unrelated questions. Costumes for dogs: cute or lame? And if you say cute, what would you dress a dog up as if you had one? Or any pet, really, if you have one that'll tolerate it. What about matching costumes? Asking for... oh, you won't believe me if I say anything else, so I'll be honest, I'm asking for me.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to the Pitch this morning, I hope you enjoyed the interview as much as I enjoyed being there. My sister says I sounded like a right idiot, but she always says that. There's just no pleasing her.

And many thanks to our hosts for making me feel at home. It still feels surreal that anyone would want to hear from me, and I'm incredibly grateful for the chance. Hopefully it won't be the last time they have me on. Although it probably
