My dear friends, I have a very exciting announcement to share with you.

I am proud to reveal that (with the assistance of my endlessly talented goddaughter, Valkyrie Avery, and the support of the Ministry of Magic's Department of Magical Games and Sports) I will be hosting Tinworth's first annual duelling tournament on the 14th of April. All proceeds will go to Benefactors of Traditional Cultural Heritage.

The tournament itself will be held at Parson's Green Farm, a delightful spot of land close to my own cottage. There will be an initial Round-Robin style round of qualifiers, followed by quarter, semi and finals. The prize is to be announced.

Names must be entered to my address, with a closing date of 30th March. The age limit is 17, although sadly I was unable to hold this during the Hogwarts holidays for my son to enter. Not that anyone will be subject to preferential treatment, ha ha.

DUELLING STUDENTS.
I expect you all to enter, and to be competing to win.

DEATH EATERS.
I trust that some of you will attend this event, as I expect it will be useful to scope out potential talent to target for recruitment.

I would also appreciate prize donations, if anyone can spare it. Since I expect one of my own students to win, I would rather that cursed objects were correctly labelled for the prize table.

LUCIUS, VALKYRIE, GERALD, GRAHAM.
Good afternoon.

I trust that you are all having restful Sundays. I would like to use this platform for a proposal amongst us. As part of the ongoing commitment I have made to the citizens of Tinworth, I would like to propose a charity duelling contest to be held here. I myself was a champion for many years running, and while the sport seems to have been overlooked in favour of Quidditch I believe that now is the time for this noble activity to make a long-overdue return.

I will soon be looking to organise this and will be accepting entries with a view to holding the contest in early April. All proceeds will go to the Benefactors of Traditional Cultural Heritage, of course, and the victims of the atrocities at Valkyrie's wonderful ball.

  • Lucius - I trust that this proposal will be swiftly approved at the Ministry and the relevant licences provided.
  • Valkyrie - I have included you here with a view to recruiting your excellent skills in organising and arranging events around this. Can we talk?
  • Graham - as my best most promising current pupil, I will expect you to be an example to any potential entrants. We can also use it to survey the talent amongst the current youth and see who might also make a good target for recruitment.
  • Gerald - No real assignments, just making you aware of this and I hope to see you there.

    Thank you all.

    Good afternoon.

I would like to take a moment to "signal boost" (as the youths say) the generous offer made by my dear friend Gerald Avery for information regarding the terrible incident that took place last week. I myself was present and attacked by some young people I did not recognise, but their description hasn't been enough evidence to hunt down the perpetrators.

I would also like to address the fact that although my good friend Byron Kettleburn spoke glowingly of me in the Prophet last week I am not looking for love in this later stage in life. Although if anyone is, I strongly recommend you get Kettleburn to write your dating profile.

    DEATH EATERS.
I would like to, just amongst us, commend Mr Montague for taking the initiative to seek training with myself. He is already improving rapidly. There will be no more incidents with warded buildings. I am available for private tutoring should anyone wish.

I would like to express my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Ms Selwyn. She always seemed like a very charming young lady. It is an awful shame that this Order decided to target one of our best and brightest.

Kettleburn, my good man, excellent reporting in the Prophet yesterday. It almost felt as though I was there myself. Truly worrisome stuff. You'll have to explain your technique over tea again sometime soon.

Robards, my dear neighbour, what awful news I saw in the Prophet today. Of course, I crossed paths with Morgan on many occasions and while he was never quite my calibre of duellist he always tried and that's what they say the most important thing is! I was just saying to my dear friend Lucius Malfoy last night that my dear son Theodore has this awful habit of dropping his left elbow when he duels that's such a Morgan Robards thing to do.

Anyway, I'm sure I speak for the entire neighbourhood (if I may, I know the polls said otherwise!) when I say I'm deeply sorry for your loss and I hope that this nasty situation with your mother is resolved soon.

In other news, I spotted the first snowdrop flower along the verge today. Perhaps spring is coming after all! And isn't that something to look forward to!

It is awfully good to know that in what should be a free and fair election campaign for a little matter of local representation that people will stoop to new lows. These Hoots - completely fake in nature - do not bother me personally but I worry for my son and how upset this must make him. I suffered the loss of two of my beloved siblings during the War and to make baseless accusations about their passing is a new kind of cruelty.

I'm sure next up will be a Hoot or two about how my late wife's illness was at my own hand, too. Before you Hoot, I would ask you to consider the upset this could cause to my dear late wife's family. If my nearest and dearest are not off-limits then perhaps hers will suffer the same ill wishes from this anonymous coward.

I have looked into it and discovered that reporting these allegations as offensive or inflammatory involves speaking to the American creators of Hooter, should anyone need to know in the future. I suppose that says it all about their platform - probably as classless as their people.

Instead I will be lodging a formal complaint with the DMLE if this harassment persists.

I must say, I’m rather getting the hang of this press coverage thing. Thank you for a fascinating interview session, Madam Malfoy. I must be sure to obtain an extra copy to send to my son at Hogwarts.

I’d like to also take the time to thank everyone who turned up at my coffee afternoon last week. It was a fascinating time. I’m sure I won’t be able to distance myself from the interesting ideas people had for quite a while. It was also a pleasure to show some of my guests around my greenhouse and potting shed so they could see how much planning and detail I go into even just for my gardening exploits.

I have spent a good few days working on planting my tulip bulbs for next year and pondering this, but I feel I am finally ready to announce that I will also be throwing my hat in the proverbial ring for the vacant Wizengamot seat and the chance to represent the people of Tinworth.

This is a decision I feel very strongly about. To introduce myself to those who do not know me - I was originally born in Ireland and upon leaving Hogwarts I spent a while on the professional duelling circuit. I held the title of champion of Great Britain for almost a decade before moving into teaching. It has been almost a decade since Tinworth welcomed my son and I with open arms after the sad passing of my beloved wife. In that time I have found the community to be lively, interesting and constantly changing. As a retiree I feel I have a great deal of time to dedicate to the people of Tinworth, as well as the passion to see their needs safeguarded. In my spare time I am a keen gardener and during his school holidays I like to spend time with my son, Theodore.

Our society is one that is brimming with ideas and developments, some of which I do believe can be the good of our kind. I would like to run on a platform of promoting public safety, monitoring and acting upon the threat of subversive activity and simply being an approachable representative for the area. Amongst the many ideas I would like to propose I have been giving consideration to the forming of a Neighbourhood Watch Association for the area. I will be detailing more about this and my other proposed initiatives in the near future.

To kick off my campaign I will be welcoming visitors this Sunday afternoon to my cottage for some tea, cake and some chat about how we all feel about our town. I would love to hear people's concerns, ideas and work out a cooperative way to improve life for everyone.

I note that Mr. Robards has also announced his candidacy on this platform and I look forward to a clean and productive campaign process leading up to the vote. No doubt he is also keen to fill his spare time with the opportunity to represent us all.

    Thank you for your time.
