Eee eee a trailer for The Colour of Magic!Despite weird, weird casting choices (even though I am always in favour of any good part for Sean Astin) I am all a-squee.

It's just strange to think of him as American, or "American" (quotation marks due to there not actually being an America on DW). If he's not "Asian", then Interesting Times makes no sense. Also, Rincewind in this novel was described as a young man, wasn't he?

He IS supposed to be scary, but what can you do. So is Death. :D I guess Sky One budgets are not as big as, say, Stargate Atlantis's.

As Russian, I first think of "American" tourist when I have to imagine some stereotypical tourist. I see lots of Asian tourusts, but they are always in groups and I can't imagine an Asian tourist that is travelling alone.
But I understand you.
BTW, sometimes I think, that Pratchett imagined Twoflower before his country, and he is more like "American" one.
So this is RINCEWIND? Really? Not kidding? I thought it was someone else, maybe the bursar... =/

Yes. Well. :D What can you do?

I read Interesting Times before I read The Colour of Magic, so Twoflower's definitely imprinted in my mind as "Chinese". I know I'll like Sean Astin's version, though, just from this trailer and from how much I already like Sean. It's just a little... wrong. I have no idea if I'll ever manage to think of David Jason as Rincewind, though I like him too. It's so confusing!
